I have been reading lots of articles and Internet forums about Lipo batteries exploding. What really surprised me was batteries can even explode if not being charged. I was originally going to buy a Lipo bag but decided to use and old metal tool cabinet I had. Cabinet is big enough to hold three of my chargers and also store my Lipo batteries. I installed a power bar and a fluorescent light so it is easier to see when connecting batteries to charger.

Post some pictures of containers you use to charge batteries.

I have finished the Piper Cub trays for the battery and Speed Controller. Every thing fit very well and the balance is bang on. I have also soldered dean connector to speed controller. So far so good.
Next step is to install the navigation lights and finish wire soldering.

The 6 cell 5000mah battery was a lot larger than I originally thought. Placing battery where fuel tank was located made the plane extremely nose heavy. In order to move battery further aft I modified the servo tray and added a balsa wood tray to bottom of fuselage.

Video camera with pan and tilt has been mounted into Piper cub. Should work great with Fat Shark Googles with built in gyro.

I have mounted my E-Flite 60 amp speed controller under the cowl. Will have adequate cooling in that location.

Converting my Hanger 9 Piper Cub to electric

Have just installed E-Flite Power 60 which will be more than enough power. hopefully the stand off's will be able to handle torque of engine.
