Hello fellow modelers & pilots. About a year ago I decided to try my hand at doing an electric conversion of a Guillows #402 P-51 Mustang. As a kid the Guillows kit introduced me to the buliding techniques necessary to make a flying model. Fast forward 100 years and this kit still is teaching me a few thing or two! After much trial and more error, I finally built an airwothy model that looks cool and flys "arrow straight". This is also my first attempt at a build thread, so be nice and don't laugh at me too hard -I just want to pass on what I learned to others who may be taking on a similar endeavor.

I have to give much credit to "Smokin Beaver" for his valuable feedback & encouragement to keep me working on this model until I got a successful flight. Here's the link that serves as the gold standard for Guillows conversions.

Also, thanks to Steve M & the posts by Droid at www.virtualaerodrome.com for excellent feedback and great ideas on building my aircraft.

Here's some pics for the finished product, but I'll go to the beginning in the next posts to show how it was done.
