Howdy all! Been a while since I posted on here. The wife got me a Parkzone T-28 Trojan for Christmas and I am happy to say that I am now off the trainer box and flying solo. Six flights so far and no crashes. My pattern work is getting better, and improving with each flight. I bought a PZ F4F Wildcat airframe kit ahwile back, and I am now at the point where I am ready to populate her. Any suggestions on motors? Thinking about a G10 setup with a custom motor mount. I don't want her to fly too hot, yet I want to maintain good control authority. The standard PZ 480's seem a bit sluggish, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Happy flying,

Patrick

Good evening,
I am fairly new to flying RC planes. About 24 years ago, I had an Eaglet 50 Trainer and was doing well with it. At the time, I was in the Navy and deployed plus I was recently married so that was the end of my hobby. Now working for the Coast Guard, the guys in my office are big into RC planes so I got back into it. Long story short, I have been flying on a trainer box with a Parkzone Corsair we pieced back together with epoxy. The plane was previously owned by a guy who transferred out of the office, so it cost me nothing. Today, on my second solo flight I lost SA and crash landed her taking off a wing and busting the motor mount and the firewall.

The wing broke clean and can be fixed with epoxy. My question is where can I get a replacement firewall mount? The motor is gone as well, but I can pick up another one for 4 bucks at the local hobby store. But, I am not finding anything but a replacement fuselage for the firewall mount which is quite a bit more expensive. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Trying not to put alot into this airframe since it is my trainer.

Thanks,
Patrick M.
