After the IMAC event we were getting a few fun flights in and the guys all got to hang out a while... Aaron actually flew this EPP Yak from 3DHS in the Freestyle event Saturday. It's a pretty fun plane for him. Hope you like...
Well, Aaron competed in an IMAC event this weekend and we ran into Chris from 3DHS who just happened to be flying advanced in the contest. We haven't seen Chris since WRAMS. We tried to help out with his plane issue but man, once he got this thing running, he was on fire! Check out this 3D adventure this guy is on! Can't wait to fly with all these guys again at the next IMAC. But Chris, RV for Nall leaves on Tuesday the 15th bro! It's your call!
Not much flying today but a video no less... Aaron was out in the yard for a quick flight...
Aaron didn't wanna post this one but it was the only video from a little session in the yard last night... so here goes... little crash at the end but some fun flying in the yard on a spring evening... nothin' wrong with that!
A photo... First IMAC event for Aaron...
We went to RCMB
We had a great time thanks to all the helpful folks at the field. Aaron did pretty well for his first time ever flying the patterns in real life on his plane. He practiced on the sim a lot but we were hesitant to put the new DA through the pattern until the day of the contest.
Anyway, he didn't finish last (thanks Ron
). We are looking forward to a nice season coming up.
A friend shot this video, so, thanks a million buddy!
Another of the EPP Yak54... nothing falls off the plane this time
We've been flying so much of the gassers lately trying to get ready for IMAC that we haven't done much else. I did catch a vid or two of the 3DHS Yak. In this one Aaron's sattelite receiver fell out of the plane after a bunch of rollers. So, he cut it short and came in to land quickly... but, promised to put some vids of this plane up when we bought it from the folks at 3DHS and I think we only took one video a couple months ago when it was cold. Hoping to take this to Nall for fun on the electriv line. The 51 inch slick will go too. We hope to get to at least two flight lines daily. Our new camera is working out pretty well I think. I'm trying to keep the plane on the screen... anywho, let us know what you think. As always, any questions, let us know. This is a 3S setup with the Omega motor that 3DHS is selling now.
Here's a vid from today. Got seven flights in... but ... here's one...
Well, no one is answering the phone this fine evening, so, purely a question about a problem. Running 2S on a MX2 foamie airframe (the RJ Gritter kind). I've got a Castle 9 amp speed control and a Hacker A10 9L like it says above. Everything flew fine for months and months. Recently, the plane flies fine for about the first minute. Then roll some circles and it will just die on a battery that is still almost fully charged per the charger and tester... I was about to throw a new speed control on it but before I do I thought I'd ask if anyone on here thinks it may be the programming of the speed control making it act that way. I've never had an electric motor act this way off of speed controller getting reprogrammed somehow, but, the thought crossed my mind that maybe the plane was on and the radio got powered on with the throttle wide open. I still don't think that would get me where I am which is why I was just going to throw a cheapo HKing 10 amp on here for a test.
So, errrrrrr ummmmm any thoughts?
We flew a couple foamies while waiting for the A123s to charge... this was Aaron flying AWAY from the helicopter about halfway through
but, a little 3S outdoor foam fun on a windy April day is all good. The landing is better than putting it in but not pretty... roll tape
Still breaking in the DA60 and running the Lawn Boy through it. This is the third flight. Had to wait for Aaron to get safely up before taking the time to get the camera. Had to charge at the field and then get her running but it was worth it. We are trying to get ready for IMAC and running this as much as possible. Hope to have a few hours on it beofre competing with it. Low rates are still pretty quick... hope you enjoy... Oh, and this is the first couple vids on the new cam. Although I can't keep the camera on Aaron's plane all the time, it seems to be taking better video than the other stuff we had going on. Anywho, see you at the Nall or somewhere else around here...
Can't help but share this video for sentimental and patriotic reasons!
Well... maiden... so, be happy for us, very sweet! Terrible video, let that be said. And it's a long video to boot. But, this is yet yet the first flight on the AW. So, we had to record something. Aaron flew it again this night and did even better with taking off and landing himself. We are soo thankful to Alex for help with the setup and all the radio help! Thanks bro!
And, we have a many years of flying this one coming up. Looks like it's on rails and a great IMAC plane. COOL!!! The vids that should follow will be awesome. Aaron is ten (and flying a 60CC right now)!!!!
Just checking out the new indoor plane this past weekend. It's very nice and light. Good kit. Put some brakes and SFGs on it for fun. Might go bigger on both next weekend. Check it out.
Someone mentioned don't tip stall so Aaron flies this glow plane like he stole it LOL. This is about his 4th flight on this plane that Tom Moyer gave him (THANKS TOM). It's a Seafgull Harrier with a sweet running OS .46 glow motor. After indoor we hit the field Sunday and I got this vid. Hard to keep the camera on the planes these days the way Aaron's been flying... rollers every which way LOL...
Well, Aaron is flying every day and this is a crazy flight. I couldn't keep up with the camera lol. Sorry about that but the rollers are nice. Had the cam set on HD video, curious to see what it looks like on YOutube and on here/RCGroups but it looked a little jumpy on the PC from the get go. I think the HD quality compromises the frame rate... not sure...
Here is the maiden on the Dynex from DynamicFoamy.com. It was a quick build and didn't even check out the directions. For those of you that build faomies it's a no brainer that puts out a nice result. There are quite a few things that can be don to play with the way it flies. You see that we tried some SFGs and some brakes. A lot of fun. Flies a little slower with these brakes but might go bigger. Upline was fine. Hovering and torque rolling no problem. We're working on the precision aerobatics. The electronics are quite possibly where we could get some serious improvements but this is waht the standard linear servos are doing right now in terms of throw and servo speed. Hope you enjoy. We hav some more video to post. Flew a bunch of planes this weekend... great time...
Just got a few planes from Burt and we are very pleased. The ultra light indoor stuff is pretty quick to build and a little more friendly in the gym than when we fly the bigger planes and shred up all the circle flyers flying their vapors and embers around (LOL). The DF planes look good and we've bben flying them on leftovers out of old PZ stuff. We are looking at some different setup options as well. Any questions or comments, let us know. We're looking to maiden the AW Extra this weekend and fly glow and the 3dHS planes as well since the weekend is supposed to be looking good from this distance.
Hope to see you all at the Nall!
