Had a shakey take off on landing gear, but once trimmed this plane is kinda fun! First successful wheel landing as I usually fly belly landers.

Thanks Nightstone for your help with details on your Simitar build!

Take a look at the plane I made out of two and a half meat trays. Its a handful!

As soon as I saw Nightstone's build of the Armin Simitar Clone I wanted to build one.

The construction of the 40" wing went fairly quick. I wanted a thin, fast airfoil so there are only two paperless fill strips and a 1/4" wood dowel spar. I tried to mimic as best as possible the root profile on the Deuce plan. Airfoil chord is 6" at root and tip with a 8.75" total chord at root. Fuse is 16.75" long. I basically scaled the Simitar Deuce plan found in the Yahoo Groups Simitar one "files" section to a 40" wingspan. It is a no paper, packing tape GG build, and will weigh 13 oz with no battery or landing gear that I am waiting on.

Figuring out how I wanted to build the fuse took longer than I enjoy. I think I will roll one next time!!

Thanks to Bill Evan's designs over at the Yahoo Simitar Groups one and two, to Nightstone, and Ed at Experimental Airlines for lighting the Armin wing fire!

Here are a few photos of the bits. Still need a RX, landing gear, and motor to complete
