Hey everybody -

Going to get my 300X back up and flying soon, this time with the Align 3GX FBL controller instead of the Tarot ZYX-S. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the tail to hold better? I can't fly it like it is other than hovering, the tail would be all over the place.

Hey everybody -

Here's the unboxing of my new Spektrum DX7s. It's sweet! I'm very impressed with it and it's quality. I like it better than my 8FG so far... it's awesome. I didn't really need the extra features of the DX8 and this will suit me well.

My first time slope soaring! It's SOO much fun! I can't wait to get better at using the wind and controlling the plane, as well as doing more ultrabatics in the future. Definitely going to be doing more slope soaring at this spot, after months of thinking about it I finally gave it a try. ~33 degrees F out and 14-17 MPH winds, it was cold but worth knowing that the slope will work

Here's the edit with music:

So I took up my new FPV PopWing v2.0 today with the 1.3 GHz, 150mw vTX onboard and the SecurityCamera2000(.com), 700TVL CMOS camera ($20!). It all performed nicely except that the range was very limited with the 150mw vTX, under 1,000 feet in fact. But that's most likely because I have the stock whip on the vRX as well.

Flew nicely with the winglet mod (thanks to FD Pilot for explaining this mod), which is basically just extending the winglets a little bit for better stability in the air.

The RMRC 8'' Monitor is great as well and is very clear. The $20 CMOS camera is very good in my opinion and I like it a lot, talk about a deal!

Oh and by the way, thanks to everybody who subscribed and got me all the way to 200 subscribers, thanks!

Binary 900 DLG Tail Fix is now uploaded. Going to try to slope soar it tomorrow!

Well, spring is on the way for us out here... only a few days after the huge snowstorm and the weather is around 50 degrees with basically no wind. Perfect flying weather of course I can't wait for spring to get here fully so that I can get out flying more. Had a couple of long, peaceful flights with the PopWing (v2.0) today, soon to be equipped with FPV gear onboard also 3 batteries and ~12-16 minutes of flying out of each means nearly an hour of flying around. Did lots of gliding not captured in this video... took it way up high (LOS - no FPV yet still), and let it glide itself down for the most part, barely had to touch the sticks. Talk about a smooth plane, this is one of the best I've built and flown! The laminate really makes it a whole new plane.

I'm in a good mood because the whole week is supposed to be nice like this as well

Episode 67 of THE FPV PROJECT

(LOS flights first, trimming it out, FPV gear will be installed soon!)

After about a half dozen flights with the PopWing v2.0, this video was shot. I've got it pretty much dialed in, I can't wait to get the FPV gear onboard, it's going to be epic! Stay tuned + subscribe, FPV information and footage coming soon

Doing some light 3D with the Blade 300X set up on the Tarot ZYX-S FBL controller. More to come! Subscribe!

Yeah, yeah yeah I know that my dad lost it a few times, but other than that the video is great The tail was messing with me at the beginning of the flight as well as the heli itself, I thought it was the main shaft but then it stopped so IDK what that was, but hey that works for me!

Yo everybody,

So recently I've been building a lot of FPV setups on here, and I've got the itch to get another setup for myself up and flying. I LOVED my old PopWing, it was a great FPV platform. 25 to 30 minute flight times, small, durable, fast and agile. Overall it flew great! After a while though, it was pretty beat up and ripped apart after I did so many modifications to it. So I ordered a new PopWing kit, this time the painted version

For the most part I'll be running a very similar setup on this one. However, this one will be laminated

The setup will include:

-900mm NitroPlanes PopWing KIT
-Lightweight Laminate (10 feet)
-ExceedRC 1360kv ~52g Motor
-FLiPower 30 Amp ESC w/BEC
-6x6 Pusher Prop (to be tested)
-1350mAH 3S 30C EFlite Battery
-Two 9g Suppo Servos
-FrSky FASST TFR6-A 6ch RX
-200mw 5.8 GHz vTX (and RX) - EDIT: 150mw 1.3 GHz vTX + 900mhz/1.3 GHz RX
-PZ0420 or 520 TVL FPV Cam - EDIT: 480 TVL Micro Cam
-SpiroNet Antennas (to be tested)
-8'' LCD FPV Monitor on the Ground
-Probably a 2200 mAH 3S for the RX + TV - EDIT: Probably a 1300 mAH 3S instead

The FPV setup will operate similarly to this one that I just recently shipped out to a member on here (but I don't have a GoPro HERO3 to plug in ):

I'll be using a tap lead off of the main 3S battery with a filter (top right, one of those) to eliminate some RF noise from entering the system. ESC and RX are ready to be glued into the foam with some painter's tape to keep it all nice and clean.

I can't wait to get back into FPV! In the future I'll also be buying one of those keychain cameras with the "D" lens for some good HD footage from the PopWing.

Stay tuned!

Hey again everybody,

I've been busy buildings lots of FPV setups for members on here lately! Everything from a micro setup to a full blown goggles/cam/TX/RX/cables setup. The prices for these setups ranges from $200 to $700+ depending on the equipment involved.

Here's one setup that I just completed. It has an XT60 tap plug for a 4S quadcopter. It includes a 200mw 5.8 GHz vTX and a vRX to go along with it. It has a BEC to get the 4S voltage down to 12v, along with a filter to get out any unwanted RF noise or the like. This one was made for the GoPro HERO3 camera.

Another setup that was just recently completed was this one. It included a 5.8 GHz vTX (250mw), skew planar antennas, an inbuilt 5.8 GHz RX for the included FatShark Dominators, a battery, 600TVL FPV camera, and a Deans "tap" adapter and filter made for a 3S FPV plane. 100% plug-n-play. I'm actually saving up for a similar setup myself, it's very easy to use and has good quality stuff.

More to come. So far everybody seems happy with their setups!

Yo everybody -

So after a solid 6-8 months I'm finally going to be getting another heli in the mail very soon! It's the Blade 300X, but without the AR7200BX installed. Since I use a Futaba 8FG for control, I'll be installing the Tarot ZYX-S FBL controller in it with a separate RX. Not going to use an S.Bus RX because those are too pricey, I'm trying to keep the build relatively inexpensive. The heli should be here next Monday and I'll get working on it then, I'm hoping to be able to fly soon but I'm not sure because of the horrible weather lately! I still have to install an RX in my new Binary 900 DLG and maiden that as well...

So this is going to be my 3rd CP heli overall, I've had a HeliMax AXE CPv3 and the mCPX V2 before. So I should do fine with the Blade 300X, I fly helis quite a bit on the simulator as well. I can't wait to get back into 3D heli flying as it is one heck of a lot of fun. Personally I've never actually set up a FBL system before so that's new to me... but it should be lots of fun, it's always good to learn something new. I've been wanting to get a heli for a while now, but overall it was the price that turned me away from them. I got the Blade 300X right here in the classifieds for $130, I ordered an RX and that was $30, and some batteries for $45, also from the same member on here. The Tarot ZYX-S FBL controller I bought from ClubHeli in the USA for $65. In total the build will end up being less than $300 and that makes me happy

It looks great, a lot better and cleaner than my first build of the Binary 900. I'm excited to get it in the air. It does need an RX and a very small BEC or VR however, then it'll be ready to go!

I had the masking tape on in the beginning of the build to put the wings together and not get CA all over the place... but I liked how it looked so I just put a piece in the center and I think it looks cool.... in real life the blue looks good on the red. LOL so I just left it on

Yo everybody -

Here's the custom FPV setup that I soldered together for a member on here. The equipment:

RMRC 1.3 GHz, 300mw vTX
RMRC 1.3 GHz Standard RX
RMRC 1.3 GHz Standard Patch Antenna
Plug for PZ0420
Plug for vTX
Two Plugs for HobbyKing Simple OSD Connection
Deans "Tap" Adapter
In-line Filter
Deans Plug for Receiver
Two (Stock) Whip Antennas

Total build time took about 3 hours plus a little bit. Not bad, actually... I double and triple checked all the connections and such just to make sure that they were solid. I'm very proud of my work! If you're looking for a custom FPV setup then please contact me!

Yo everybody -

I recently ordered the Binary 900 DLG kit from Hobby King with 3 servos and an RX pack. I'll be using a BEC that I already have... I can't wait to build this one for a second time! My first one unfortunately met its demise in a tree, so I won't be flying this one that's coming in the mail in my backyard. It should be getting here by the end of next week, and you can definitely bet that I'll be putting up lots of videos on it!

I'm hoping to get an unboxing video too, and lots of build videos on what I did to get it ready to fly. stay tuned and get updates by subscribing to my channel HERE... I'm really excited to get back into DLG, and for about $170 shipped this wasn't a bad deal at all. I'm hoping to maiden it by spring once it gets warmer and thermals start coming out. But I can always test fly it before then
