Hey Everybody -

I've been seeing a lot of headsets around lately in the FPV world and decided to custom build my own, and show you guys how to do it. All you need is a 4.3'' LCD monitor (TFT) from eBay, and a "virtual reality headset". I cut out part of the back of the headset with a dremel and glued on the monitor. I also cut out the internal divider and took out the diopter pieces that came with the headset. After a little bit of extra hot glue, red tape and electrical tape to cover some of the light holes, it looks great!

Virtual reality headset here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251766752348

TFT 4.3'' monitors are all over eBay. Would recommend buying in USA. The best deals on them are around $10-$12.

So far testing has been going well. Have not tested blue screen yet. Most of the cheaper TFT's can handle some static, but not a whole lot. These were built for my LOS setups. And in any case, use the output from a DVR to eliminate any blue screen.

Enjoy! Any questions just ask.

Guys don't forget to clean out your PC's for the new year! Mine was very dusty and my desk needed some rewiring to clean it all up. Some unscrewing and dusting, reconstruction and then a few zip ties and velcro straps later and it's like a whole new PC.

Specs on mine:
27xi HP on left
23'' Acer on right (both via HDMi)

Alienware X51 case
Alienware Keyboard
Razer Deathadder 2013
Steelseries QcK+ Mousepad
Intel i7 3770
GTX660
Seagate 1TB 7200RPM
8gb RAM
Audioengine D1 DAC
AudioTechnica ATH-M50x Headphones

Enjoy 2015!

WOW. It's hard to tell from the video, but it was literally going directly up. Then my brother had to start zooming in it was so high. Talk about one hell of a thermal. On maiden flight too! Enjoy!

When a custom flying wing is off balance (back heavy) and flown in ridiculous winds. Tried it off the slope too - would have been fine if the CG was right, LOL

Quite a comical video...

A few common misunderstandings about FPV technology. If something doesn't sound quite right, keep watching, I probably explain it better further on. There are many things in this video that depend. FPV setups always depend so even the misunderstandings depend.

I've been making YouTube videos since the start of 2012. I'm ALWAYS working on something new in R/C - even if what I'm working on isn't your niche in the hobby, in the future there's always a chance I'll be doing something you'd like to follow. THE FPV PROJECT and THE FPV PROJECT II are both huge successes and the second is not over yet. I'd encourage everybody to subscribe, I'm always up to something... next is getting my DSLR in the air with my recent hex. After that, who knows?

FPV flying, multirotors, lots of R/C tech, I've done jets, 3D planes, foamies, flying wings, custom builds for FPV, even DLG and some gliding, slope soaring.. etc etc etc... even a few trucks, helis, LOL basically everything
