New Super Weapon is technically operational now. Just need to add the streamers to it so I can find it. I doubt the NVA or Vietcong would even recognize what this thing was if it landed intact. Yes, I know they were a colonial french colony, but to most of them this thing would probably be unrecognizable.

Finished the Vortac Bomb release. It all came together in the end, but what a pain getting the servo to quit buzzing. I am very glad I had used a HS 50 micro servo as anything else would be complete overkill. The endpoints were set to some ridiculously small amount of throw. I cured the servo buzz in the end by working the system manually back and forth about fifty times to wear in the mechanism. After that everything preformed flawlessly. I am still confident that a magnet coil system would be 10 times easier to set up. Next thing is the mounting of the Standard American toilet bomb.

Giving up on the Horizon Hobby Aerial Drop unit as it doesn't work with the Sonic Combat adapter. The unit never releases and all the power in the receiver goes to 1/2. I took a gamble that all the plug in modules would work with it, but with the name Sonic Combat Adapter it should have been self evident. Well, back to the Vortac unit. Here is the pictures of the set up. Micro servo in that hole and Vortac unit in front.
Hobby Kings bomb unit would sit way too low, but would be a good alternative too.

Finished the gear and not completely happy on how it turned out. I didn't bother to vacuum bag them and free hand fiber-glassed it. Not too smooth. Finally, gave up and painted them and the aluminum paint just shows every blemish. Well, it's a foamy so I guess I should be overly critical, but man I must me rusty with the glassing by hand. Next on the list will be the Horizontal Tail.

AD-1 Skyraider (2 min 57 sec)

Second flight of my AD-1. Got the ailerons under control by dialing down my dual rates to 65% and upped the Expo to 15%. Still a little twitchy in the video, but the plane felt good. Overall, a great solid flyer with what seems are no bad habits except nosing over on grass. I am going to put Super Cub stock wheels on it as they are more round and half the weight for the same 2" size 3.5 grams.
