this was my slope soaring today, I feel this type of flying is the true essence of flight. No Prop, Motor or second chance. It is a all or nothing situation and to do it well takes sharp sticks and the ability to read the plane. Loose the prop and motor and set off on gossamer wings.....what a blast

Had a blast at legacy today, brought two new pilots out with us. Ryan who shot this footage with his I phone and Kielse who read our posts here in this forum he sent me a private message and boom our group grew by 2 we now have 12 men flying what a blast. This is a short vid showing a great glider zipping to 300 feet on a standard high start. The wind had just about all of the other fellas grounded. Notsogood, myself and the two new guys were the only ones to challenge the stiff 11mph up to 15 wind more to come later
Went out to soar my Fling for the first time this morning. The wind was 17 to 24 MPH so I drove to a new spot out in the desert to find a 30 degree slope with the wind smoking up the way I needed. Got in position and with great excitement lofted her to the heavens. She soared like a eagle after twenty minutes of fantastic motor free soaring and my nerves went away I landed her (not so smooth) but in one piece. I had a smoke and a gulp of coffee and went for flight two with great confidence I stabbed the sky with my beautiful glider and 3 minutes in I did some loops and fast low carving left to right about a foot off the ground and then ......... DISASTER struck. As I turned into the wind a very strong gust hit us the Fling went nose up and I was holding full down but in that wind it made no difference, now inverted and tumbling down wind mother nature slammed her back to earth among boulders the size of my 3/4 ton truck. Snapped the carbon rod fuse in half and crushed the fiberglass nose in, broke both control lines to the elevator. So a new plane is on its way and I will be flinging a new fling by friday for 79 dollars you cant go wrong and now I have a spare wing and tail feathers on hand they were undamaged in the crash.
This is the Fling by Great planes 2 channel and a wing span of 48 inches she has a AUW of 9 Ounces she comes with a Highstart and is a dream to fly. Want to learn sail planes for under 100 dollars just say Fling. I put her next to my Radian Pro to show a size and configuration diffrences. Check this vid out its cool or your money back.
This vid shows two other ways to launch a wing, and some intense combat footage captured by my flying partner "Notsogood" My self and Bowsonn are in a two plane dule that is fun to watch. Put this vid to full screen and enjoy.
