The DJI Phantom 4 allows you to record full hd at 120 fps, which it then makes into slow motion video at 30fps (29.97), 4x slower than reality, so we thought we'd go out and create some slo mo wave action at the beach.

Went a bit crazy with this one, driving all over the place to try the Phantom 4's active track function on lots of different moving objects.
It works best if there is a lot of contrast between what you are filming and the background, and prefers steady contant movement than sudden quick movements which it doesn't track very well at all. Still, it's the first time it's been used on a consumer drone like this, so expect it to get better in upcoming years.
Hope you like watching our video.

We went to Stanage Edge in the Peak District in the north of England. It was sunny when we set off but became really cloudy and grey when we got there, so I had the idea to try making a video in black and white, a bit meaningful or moody and sombre... still not sure if it worked or not?

This is the 3rd, and perhaps final, of our Phantom 4 vs Phantom 3 Pro videos. We decided to create a time lapse movie from photographs taken simultaneously by both Phantoms hovering next to each other.

The Phantom 4 certainly seems more stable when it's flying, so we wanted to see if time lapse photography comes out more stable or not from the P4. It was very windy and I'm not sure you can tell the difference in stability, if there is any difference?

We made a two part video comparing the new DJI Phantom 4 and our older DJI Phantom 3 Pro.

The first part compares the look and feel, showing close-ups of the drone itself, and in the second part we took them both out for a fly to see if the alleged camera tweak on the P4 really did make the images a bit sharper and clearer.

We've been sent some exclusive video from the Chinese drone company testing their prototype police drone. Not sure of this is exciting or a little bit scary?

We've been doing a few experiments with the Q500 4K lately, and this time it's all been about taking off from and landing on water. It was a bit hair raising at times, but definitely a laugh so long as you're not too worried about your Q!

We went to this place near Sheffield on the edge of the Peak District and found this reservoir with an unusual cascading water feature.

We made this video driving round town with the Yuneec Q500 4K on the roof of the car.
The advantage of using this over the steady grip is you can turn the camera on and off from inside the car with the radio as well as change the tilt angle. Also, because it's not flying, the battery in the drone lasts for ages, like hours!
I also had the radio charging from the car's 12v supply, which was needed after 2 hours driving around.

We went to a place called Roseberry Topping right near the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham in Northern England.
It's quite a dramatic looking rock you can see sticking up in the air for miles around.

It was quite windy by the time we got there but the P3 did all right mostly. It had a few camera shakes in places from the wind, which I've tried to remove with warp stabilizer in pp, which mostly worked but created a couple of strange effects on the sky in places... see if you can spot them.

This is my second video made at SkyTech 2016, a UAV expo in London. This one shows a selection of exhibitors and their thought on various drone tech, like thermal imaging, drone mapping, upgrading the DJI Inspire with FPV camera and choosing safe airspace to fly in.

We were at a drone exhibition called Skytech in London a few weeks ago. It was pretty small and mainly aimed at the commercial drone scene. However, Yuneec were there and I managed to get an interview with Dan Farren from Yuneec UK where he told me all about the upcoming Typhoon H. I've also added the specs from the brochure at the end of the video. Can't wait for this to be released so I can fly it!

We were working on a filming job in Hull (UK) this week that finished near to sunset on a sunny day so decided to stop at this amazing bridge on the way back so I could make this video. It was really cold, freezing actually, but the view was amazing.

After reading about this interesting toy here on rcgroups I decided to give it a try. I wasn't expecting much as it was very cheap, but it was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was all ready to say how terrible it is, especially as TMART refused to change the order when we accidentally ordered the non-camera version and showed very bad customer service, but have to admit it is pretty damn cool for the price.

I bought this Parrot Hydrofoil toy drone thing the other day and we made this video about it. It's kind of a boat and the little mini drone in one. You fly it with your smartphone, or drive the boat - you select which one in the Pilot app.
For me using it as a boat was more fun, it doesn't really stand up against other mini drones I've flown. It doesn't have a camera as such.. well it does have a positioning system camera pointing straight down that you can take snapshots with if you want picture of grass or carpet, but it's such an unusual little thing, the hydrofoil and mini drone combined, that I can't help but like it.

Here is the video we made of the UK Drone Show 2015. We both, Jonathan and I, talked to a lot of people. It was really cool that someone from RCgroups came and said hi too! Please tell me which one you are. You told me your usersame but I forgot which one was you on here!

We are going to the UK Drone Show this weekend as an exhibitor. Just to talk about Drone Minds really, we don't actually sell anything. Still, very nervous and excited at the same time, and we've been frantically preparing our stand so haven't been flying for the last week.
Anyway, I took the opportunity to try and make a Youtube channel intro. This is the first time I've tried this, making an intro, so not sure if it's good or not? I guess if it's not popular I can always make another one.

I'm always trying to learn how to fly better and not rely completely on GPS, return to home and the FPV screen, so I don't panic if the autopilot systems fail to work.
I'm by no means an expert pilot, and probably put myself a bit above novice so far.
I think a lot of people buy their drone, Phantom or Yuneec or whatever, and just hover about taking pictures and videos without taking the time to really get to grips with flying, which is what I'm trying to do.
This probably won't be a mind blowing video for anyone who's already good at flying, but if you're totally new like I was a few months ago it might be interesting?

I decided to have a fly over the floods in York, where I live. It floods every year here, sometimes a lot worse than this. It is a good opportunity to fly over where there would normally be people when no one can get down the riverside because of the flooding.

We had a visit from a nice guy called Ken, who we first met earlier this year and this was his second visit. The weather on the day was terrible, windy and raining, But Ken was really keen to visit Druid's Temple, a small stone henge about an hour away from our studio, so off we drove in the pouring rain. We even got stuck for 45 minutes in a weather related traffic jam on the A1, but we were determined to reach the temple so kept on going. Luckily the rain eased off a bit when we got there and we all, Ken, Jonathan and I, managed to have a bit of a fly and explore. Here is the video I edited of the gloomy day.
