1st test of my home-built brushless gimbal for camcorders on a DJI S900. Quite pleased with the results so far, will be even better with a few adjustments. Go to 1 min 45 if you want to miss my rambling at the beginning and just see the video footage.

Another little quadcopter review, not quite as small as the last quadcopter though and flies well outdoors.

I bought this tiny quadcopter the other day and made this video review. Being so small makes it a little difficult to fly at first, it's quite twitchy, but you do get used to it fairly quickly. I've since discovered that it works with the larger Hubsan transmitter also, which also has yaw trim, that makes it fly easier.

It can do flips and rolls, which I managed to do once in this video. Should be easier with more practice.

I thought I'd give a CP filter a try on my gopro for three reasons. One, to cut down on reflected glare on water and windows etc; Two, to reduce the amount of prop flicker; Three, to protect the actual gopro lens.

Video 1 with filter explanation. Castle at 4 mins if you don't want to see camera stuff.

Video 2 shows a river and weir and is a good test of the CP filter, especially near the end where you can see through the water to the brick construction of the weir.

This is a video of a Viaduct near where I live, using a DJI Evo S800, Zenmuse gimbal and Panasonic GH3.
You can see a more detailed description on my personal blog or be a super amazing person and join my little forum and discuss it there.

Our little UK flying forum is pootling along steadily. I've taken to redirecting email requests for help to the RC Flying UK Forums, partly so I don't have to keep writing the same emails if I'm honest, but mainly so other people can see what's being asked and answered. Questions are never left unanswered.

There are reviews of RC Flying bits and bobs and regular members will also be given the chance to review things themselves, things I send to them for free!

If you're in the UK, or even Europe, it would be brilliant if you joined our little community no matter what level of experience you have. We're not trying to compete with the big guys like rcgroups etc, but just create a little UK RC Flying community.

Here is a nice little test of our DJI S800 Evo with Panasonic GH3 and matching Zenmuse gimbal.
It's in a pretty low light situation, in a valley with no direct sunlight as the sun had dropped down below the hills, so I think the GH3 has done very well.
I'm also impressed with the Evo and A2 flight controller, with no problems yet about about 20 flights.
This was also a first attempt at a two man operation, one on camera and one just flying. It was certainly different and a lot of fun, but I'm still not convinced it's entirely for me.

I've had a blog for a while now, over two years, and decided to add a UK based forum to my site a few weeks ago: http://www.rcflying.co.uk/forums/

Obviously it will never compete with rcgroups and other massive RC forums, but I hope it will slowly develop into a nice UK based hang out where people can ask rc flying related questions, post their videos and events and share their experiences with online RC shops and arrange local meet ups.

There will also be a classified section where members can buy and sell and/or exchange their RC gear, which I hope will be useful to UK people who are tired of seeing classified ads with CONUS (Continental?Contiguous United States) ONLY when they want to buy something.

I will also be giving away rewards and hosting free competitions for members.

Please consider signing up if you're into anything RC that flies and want to help develop this UK based community. http://www.rcflying.co.uk/forums/
