well, got a extended head and shaft, xtreme 12mm one. the extension is the head, not the shaft!
fitting was straightforwards enough, although now in flying i get tbe. took off assembly, and checked for straightness on a friends lathe set-up, apeears to be drilled straight enough, so unsure of cause?

will try shorter flybar i think, and go from there.

also, main shaft bearings need replacing, so could be contributery to problem, so new ones on order.

ok, had a go at the mount holes with a dremel on the carbon horizontal, slightly elongated them, so horizontal fitted and looking good now!

ok, next on the list, decided on more carbon, but was not keen on what the xtreme fins looked like! so, ordered a set of gaui ep200 fins, only cost a couple of pounds, and went from there.

when they arrived, i measured up the mount holes. on the vert fin, fine, just needed reaming out a touch!

the hori one, going to have to think of a plan for that one, maybe use plasticard to make a spacer/mount.

end result on vert fin fitted looks pretty good, lot better than the xtreme plastic one i think!

re: horizontal fin: decided to elongate the mounting holes with a dremel, so horizontal fin fits fine now!

Well here's my e-bay bargain, in all its glory. cost 45 and flies pretty well! really wanted a v4, but this is a good start. came with xtreme blades, 4 lipo's, xtreme v3 package, even a nice shiny flight case! clearly the previous owner had spent some money here, the only thing i added was the led flybar. however this needed balancing out, but all good now. pics here show the other e-bay bargain i got hold of for my mate shane, a co-comanche.

this hovers beautifully, but has little control due to lopped-off servo arms, so not enough throw on the controls!
