So here's what I have now. Got rid of the Heli-Max Axe, gave my YD-911 to a buddy of mine for his boy, sold the Double horse 9053 cheap and decided it's time to get real. Joined the AMA, IRCHA, and my local flying club the Upper Valley Fun Fliers.
Blade mSRx. Nice little bird.
Blade 120SR. Awesome beginner heli.
Blade 120SR with the Freestyle Hobby belt drive variable pitch tail mod. The way it was meant to be.
Blade 450 3D. Got lucky and snatched one of those BnF for $179 before they disappeared. WooHoo!
Blade 500 3D. Heck of a deal from Horizon. BnF for $259! Can't beat that.
My Kyosho Concept .030. When I get the decals done it will be my "General Lee"
I'm having a difficult time finding settings for my Dx6i that mimic the E-flite HP6DSM radio that came with this heli. Anyone out there have something solid? I've found several setups but none that make it fly like the stock radio. I know, I know, why would you want it to fly like stock? The stock radio wasn't all that bad and I liked the docile-ness of the flight mode 0 and it could get up n go in FM1. Enough for a beginner anyway. Help a brother out people.
OK. So it's been a while since I've been on here. But I've been busy! I got my Heli-Max Axe all rebuilt and flying. Not that impressed with it. Still on the old FM band, had to upgrade to a LiPo for a little more air time. It flies, that's all I can say. Still, I built it and learned a lot in the process. Got the RealFlight 6 sim and been flying it ALL winter. I'm ready to take out my Blade SR and get some forward flight in, maybe a few loops. Got me a DX6i and figuring it out. Ordered the backlight kit for the Turnigy 9x and did the mod everyone is doing on YouTube. Came out nice. Also got a Blade mSRx. Squirrely little bugger. Been watchin lots of videos and getting a lot of knowledge. Hopefully this summer I'll get some flying in. Also bought a whole mess of airplane stuff from a guy at work with enough stuff to build one that flies and sold the rest on Craigslist so now I got me a Piper Cub.
Been practicing all winter (what winter? Flyin my 120SR in the house. Workin on that piece of crap Heli Max Axe. Flyin my sim. Bought a Blade SR which is pretty cool. It IS a very good little heli for transitioning to collective pitch. I was impressed. Got to messin around and made a video to throw on YouTube. Lemme know if you like it! Have a watch.

Just got a new heli today. I know, I'm going backwards but knowledge is power and every little bit of experience helps. Got a good deal on a Double Horse Volitation 9053. Thought I would fly this to help me practice my orientation. It's got some bumps & bruises but the parts are in the mail! Also I finally got my Axe CP canopy & decals and I think I have it all set up correctly less a little trimming and waiting for a relatively calm day to practice on it.
Yeah, workin' tons of hours at work makes HeliStrike a dull boy. But it makes for lots of cash to play with my toys! I went to my local hobby shop today and broke down and bought a Blade 120 SR! Literally I just got back. I didn't want to spend a ton of money and it was reasonable enough. Well, it's not technically local it's about a 45 minute drive but the closest one. Yeah, I bought the training wheels too. I figured I'd crash this one a while before flying my Concept 30. Anybody else have one? Tips/tricks? Been flyin the crap outta my simulator and gettin better but I wanted to practice with the real thing. Gonna go have some fun now. Keep em' in the air kids!

My first Heli. My first blog. I've wanted one ever since I can remember. Got my tax return back and a friend at work had one for sale and here I am.
