Hi All

Im about halfway through building a 110 inch Catalina

Its a kit that was made in the early 1990s here in NZ, the fuselage is moulded fibreglass, to be honest the balsa/ply parts in the kit are a mile off and dont match the plans very well, most of them will need re cut.

The reason for the Russian scheme is to be different I guess.

Its running two 55-50 700kv motors with 12x8 3 bladed props on 2x 4000mah 6 cell batteries (should draw about 70amps tapped out)

Im setting up motor differential on a switch and a slider to enable it to taxi on the water easier, I have looked into the programing of the DX18 and it looks like I can set it to go to a maximum of 25% throttle when the differential is engaged (for safety as I dont want the differential while its in the air )

The batteries and the ESC's are mounted in the centre section of the wing (well out of the water)

So far the wing section is almost finished and next week we will start on preping the fuselage for painting the tail section is finished and is awaiting covering.

This is my all-time favourite warbird.
