I had some time to assemble the T-45 together this weekend. It's more difficult to align the wings to the fuselage on it than on the F/A-18, just bc the wing is big and there's no slot for it to fit into. I managed to get CA glue all over my fingers. Luckily, a little bit of my gf's nail polish remover took most of the glue off.

I had read that the stock servos tend to fail so I replaced the aileron servos with HXT900's. I haven't glue them down yet until I get a chance to make sure they work properly.

I ordered a Thunder AC6 charger and once it showed up, I can install the Rx and bind it to my Dx6i. Then I can test the servos, connect up all the control rods, and break-in the fan. Then yank it out to static balance it.

Here's a picture of the T-45 and F/A-18 together. The T-45 is bigger but bc of the camera perspective, it made them both look the same size. I have the landing gears installed but will take them off when it's time to fly. I just don't like the look of the plane in-flight with the landing gears down.

Last nite, I assembled the F/A-18 together. I used some foam-friendly CA glue and kicker. Worked really well. The F/A-18 is almost complete. I'm leaving the missiles off of it until I learn to fly well. I have to attach the control rods yet. Then order a lipo charger from cellpro and wait for the batteries to arrive from HobbyPartz. Hopefully, the batts will arrive soon and the Cellpro 4S Gold w/ AC power supply will be back in stock as well. Once the electrical system is online, I can break-in the fan/motor and balance the fan.

Order from Toysonics last week at the same time as the F-18 from Hobby King. Package was double boxed and the inner jet box is in perfect condition. T-45 looks pretty!!! It's Huge compared to the F-18. Can't wait to put it together and fly!

On a different note, doesn't look like I need to sand the area to glue it because it's mostly white and unpainted. Sweet! One less thing to do.

Last nite, I received my jet from Hobby King. It took 5 days from order to delivery (with EMS). Not bad at all considering it came from Hong Kong.

I started to sand the gluing points on the wings, verti/horiz stabilizers, and fuselage so that the CA glue/kicker will have a better bond. I gotta snap some pics and post them.

Things to do yet:
  1. Buy Lipo charger (done)
  2. Assemble jet (done)
  3. Re-inforce ailerons and elevators with Blenderm tape (done on T-45)
  4. Swap out 2mm bullet connectors for XT60 on ESC and battery
  5. Test, bind, mount Rx into jet
  6. Break-in fan
  7. Balance fan blade
  8. Balance jet
  9. Find some place to fly this baby
