I always wanted to take on a project like this for some time now... until now i never really had enough time nor finances for that matter. I never really was a big fan of gas guzzling mowers since i can remember. In the past i always cut my lawn with a "hippie" reel mower, which of course always was a daunting task with not so good results in the end. Researching and studying many mowers i have realized something very important. That is: You do not need excessive RPM's/power output from your motor/battery setup to have your lawn cut and looking good. Don't get me wrong, with todays modern reasonably priced electronics i don't see how every household could have a clean powered grass mower. I decided to aim towards a more economical path, to stick with a simple basic setup that wont fail me in real world. "Simplicity rules"

I got my hands on an older "weed eater" brand lawn mower body. The old 5HP gasser that used to power an old 21" blade has been replaced with an economy series AmpFlow E30-400 brushed motor(2HP roughly). It turns an 18" blade mainly because of the amp draw for this particular setup/motor gearing. It does give me a smaller cutting path but not so much where it would become a pain to mower your lawn.

I am very impressed as to how very little power i need to actually cut the lawn with this setup. After all i am not trying to cut no 5" tall grass or nothing like that. On a week to week basis grass trimming it...Continue Reading

So i had this old traxxas nitro sport, my friend gave it to me after he had trashed the whole thing a long time ago.

So i thought to myself why not turn this into a glow to electric conversion.

I Dont really know how this new Velineon brushless setup will work out for me, but its worth a try.

The 3s a123 pack might just be a good contender for this setup if not strong enough

Any thoughts or comments....

A little update: I know its been a really long time and i still havent finished the boat But i hope it will happen any time this summer

So i decided to take a different path. I ditched my gp-42 and replaced it with 900kv turnigy outrunner, along with a 11x7apc prop 60A esc and a 4s lipo pack. It just seems so much more practical... Thank you HC for cheap and affordable products

The boat has plenty of power and turns really well with the air rudder, I tried it out on my living room carpet and it really kicks some.... cant wait to try it on the water!!! stay tuned

Take care Tom......Continue Reading
