Well it's has been a great summer of rc flying, but it is time to start wraping things up for the season. With that in mind this next weekend we have our last club fly in. We reset our S.P.A.D. event due to the weather on the first one. This gives me a chance to fly combat one more time this year, so I made another plane to take with me...I call it the Zero spad...anyways I replaced the electric power plant with nitro in the spadet and put a nitro in the zero, 40 size on both...as well as biger gas tanks 10oz. I will remaiden them this week befor the event...I will post pics of the day next week.

Well I didn't do any flying this weekend due to other plans, but was able to go out and see my buddy's new plane it's a 40% with a 150cc in it. It had a bad part and was not able to fly I meet two very experinced pilots, as they were helping my buddy. Turns out Pat is one of the best engine guys in the rc world, he works on the real drones for his day time job. He was there with another one of his buddys Chris, they both fly the BIG stuff all 33% and up. I posted some pics...enjoy

What a great weekend for flying, summer time is here in the NorthWest. We could not have hand picked a better weekend for the Electric Goose. The first day was a free fly day, at one time I looked up and saw 7 or 8 planes up at the same time. I thought to myself we could sure use some traffic control here, no mid air collisions. I think we ended up with somewhere around 50 pilots or so. Our field was very busy.
Sunday we had some friendly games, first we did a ribbon cut, then we did touch and go's, and we also did a few rounds of combat. The dog fighting was a blast. I finaly got my first kill...I posted a few photos of the weekend enjoy....Continue Reading

Well yesterday was a busy day in the RC world for me. first off I fixed the Extra and flew it a couple of times, I noticed the wings will need a bit more work. The spars are made out of screen frame matt. and the big crash bent them. so I need to go back in and replace the spars other than that I am pleased with the craft... We were able to maiden the new trainer planes we made as well. They flew great, not a bunch of power, but plenty to fly. We put the planes through their paces, we did loops, rolls, and inverts they flot so nice...and are really fun to fly.
The last thing yesterday was kinda touching. One of my fellow club members dad passed away, and left him with all his old rc stuff. To make a long story short I now have a new bird in the hanger...it's a 10' glider, I don't know much about it yet but plan on going through it this winter, also he gave me two nitro motors a .19 and a .35 he wants me to use them. What a honer, I will try to find something special to do with em...well other than that, Our club decided to have another S.P.A.D. event this Sept, so it gives me an opp. to have combt with the spads. and maybe sell one or two.

I posted some pics of the day...enjoy all and all I saw some really nice aircraft today and was really impresed...I just love this hobby...oh I almost forgot don't forget The Electric Goose...http://www.electricgoose.com/...Continue Reading

Well it had to happen sometime...The big crash...I took the S.P.A.D. Extra to the field to try the 12x5 prop I picked up for the plane and man was that the ticket...It flew sooooo fine it was a screamer and not to mention fast as hell...I did 3 flights on it and was even able to do my first hover, I did it high so I could recover. man this plane rocks... on the third flight the plane went down...it got inverted on me and it was silowiting on me, due to the sun I pulled back when I should have pushed forward on the stick and down she went, when it hit the ground the motor and tank ended up 30 feet away from the craft, it hit HARD...all and all it was quite humbling to have my first crash, with so many people watching.

Well allright, I was able to get the Extra up in the air Sunday. It flew great, it was a bit nose heavy but I was able to trim her out and then she flew great...The landing was much more HOT than my trainer, wow what a blast..I will also need to play with the prop size, I ran a 13x5, but I think the 12x5 might work better. I will try it again soon...I posted some pics sorry about the quality,my wife took them...

Well as last reported I could not get my S.P.A.D Extra running at the field, so back to the hanger to find out why...
after further investigation I found the prob, the back plate on the motor was cracked and missing a screw. I repaired it and fired it back up and BINGO it ran like a top.... now back to the field for it's maiden...maybe today or sunday, we will see I have a busy weekend, so I might not be able to hit the field till next week I will post pics of it's maiden when I do...

Don't forget the Electric Goose.....http://www.electricgoose.com/ see you there...

Well I finished the Extra today and took it out for the Maiden. I got to the field and another club member was there flying his electric stuff... I got all set up and then it dawned on me I left my cell phone and camera on the bumper of my car OMG all I could think of was to call it with my buddys phone and, no answer gulp.... so I left the field and headed back home, when I got there my wife said some guy stoped with the camera, and it was fine...
my phone on the other hand was not so lucky it hung on untill I left the little market by my house...to make a long story short it got ran over and does not work any longer... so back to the field I go I wanted to maiden the Extra bad.....I started it up and just could not get it to idol right so I called it a day with that plane and flew my trainer again...I posted some pics enjoy.
