Well allright, I was able to get some work done on the S.P.A.D. I finished the wings. and was able to get the push rods and horns on. Next I need to install the fuel cell, tx, bat, and hook up the motor. still not sure about the landing gear. I guess thoes guys doing combat don't use em. They say to time the engine to stop with the prop level. I guess run it...stop it....reset the prop...run it again and see where the prop stops. I know you kill the plane prior to landing, so we will see..I posted some pics of the progress, enjoy..

This is my first S.P.A.D. aircraft...The prez of our club wanted us to build a spad plane cuz he knows this guy in Cali. that comes up to our field once a year and he is big on spad planes, they want to put together a SPAD fly in...
So here it is, after some research I came up with the Dog Fighter. I had a .25 laying around and some extra servos so what the heck..I thought since it doesn't have landing gear I might add some for landing? or I have a folding prop I can install...I posted some pics...enjoy...
I modified it a bit so I call it Dog Fighter (2) built by: BarnCraft...

well... I tried to madin the J-3 today and it didn't go so well. the plane tracked to the right and instead of aborting the takeoff I went for it, the tail came up and I pulled back on the stick, but it just didn't clear the high grass and she went down The dammage report: left wing spar pulled out, but not all the way off, so I think it's fixable. landing gear wire pulled out at the bottom again I can fix. I should have flattened the rod before wraping it with wire and epoxy (my bad).. and last but not least a broken prop...after further inspection I found the outer pushrod to the elevader pulled loose as well, but I wanted to relocate the servos to the rear of the plane anyways, all and all the worst dammage was my pride...I posted some pics and video, enjoy

Well since my madin of the J-3 did not happen, I took the trainer out for the day. I did three flights at my regular flight field, and then packed it up, and took off to a new flight field...(for a change of pace).
Well when I got there I was greeted by a few guys at the field. after a few minutes or so they invited me to fly for the day as a guest. What a great time they all have the big gassers DL 50's and such... and theas guys know how to fly em as well. The field is much more open than my field with no trees around. also no hight restrictions...as my field does. It was really nice to strech my wings so to speak...I think I will madin the J-3 here at this field.
I posted some pick of some of the stuff I saw this weekend. enjoy..
