Didn't made any new entry since a very long time... So many unfinished project unfortunately but here is a new idea... Like the flying truck, I decide to try out the Flying FJ Cruiser. To my knowledge I don't think it has ever been done so why not coconut!
Well I managed to crash broken my lady bird didn't I! Actually the center plastic piece is not that strong unfortunately. Anyway I decided to redo a scratchbuild frame for it on a wider size.
I used for that BBQ Skewers and an ATM card like to hold the booms and fit my board on it.
Once my electronics were on I had some binding problem as the led light kept on blinking fast without binding back with the TX. I actually cut the wire from the Motors to the board to solder longer wire in order to fit on my new bigger frame.
Then it worked, I managed to fly it for 2-3 mins with the same abilities then the stock model, only I felt it was more easier for quad newbie like me.
Then I recharged my battery as I thought I might not have fully charged it and tried it again but the same binding problem occured...
If anyone have an idea of what could be the problem, feel free to give a hand here, I would really appreciate!

The binding problem I'encoutering is not due to the crash as I flew the model with the broken leg, it was still attached then, just oscilating from left to right only on take off. While flying it stood still in position. It only came off in my hand whi -

I recently purchased that Ladybird quadcopter for practicing purpose before build a proper Quad and I thought it would be to use only indoor so I was playing around the appartment with it with lacking of space to really enjoy it.
So I decided to take it out for a spin and I was surprise to see how it could still handle in what I thought "too windy condition" for this little thing!
But to my surprise it handle very well outdoor even with wind!
Since I don't really fancy the look of the Ladybird canopy I decided to make an angry bird canopy, first I made one out of a paper cup but the fixation area were tearing a bit so scrap it and made another one with a plastic cup this time that I will reinforce in the fixation zone.

After a very long time, I finally got my hand on building a new wing, decided to do it from scratch as I didn't want to use any plans for it, basically it is of a similar shape then most of other wing but this one is mine
Suprizingly the wing flew off my hand with no adjustment of CoG and it is very stable!
I add wooden disposable spoon to cover my servos and add a mis shapeded clear canopy that I was trying to do for another project, a fatty P-51.
It turned out to be a very sweet wing, manoeuvrable et fun to fly in confined space.
This wing was build with Depron vinyl covered of 5mm, only 2pieces of 12 inches BBQ Skewers were used at the center of the wing for stiffeness and that is all about the building.
I use a 1650kv motor, 25 amps ESC and 2 different battery either 1300mAh 3Cell or 1000 mAh 3 cell. 2 unit 9gr servos nylon gear
Here is the flying video:
Here are some picture of the completed wing:

Here is a new entry guys with the Mrs.Lil wich is a tailess plane more like a wing type with a buble sort of profile fuse using only rudder to turn, climbing and descending is done with throttle imput.
I found that build on www.flyrc.com and the plan with some explanation on it is located here: http://www.flyrc.com/mrslil
The design was first build more then 60 years ago by Mr. John Worth and it was powered by a petrol engine... Later on he decided to make a way smaller version of it and being electric powered. Since I don't have a little 10gr motor I left aside my 37" wing which I will eventually use on a later stage with a proper landing gear if I get the correct gear tu put on.
My 70" version is powered by a E-MAXX 2822 (1200kva) and a 10x4.7 SF prop, a 1300 mAh 3 Cell battery and one single 5gr servo is used for rudder imput. The rudders are connected to the servo arm by wire wich will only deflect one of the rudder for turning.
It is a slow fliyer and need very little to no air at all for maiden.
I should be able to try it on tonight or tomorrow morning upon weather conditions.

The upper wing is my 37 Inches version but felt like it was too smal so I blew up the plan and end up with a 70" size -

Little mods before maiden, I increased the size of the rudders as I fell like I wouldn't have enough authority with the little deflection.
Thread for X-31?
I just wanted to know if there was already available an open thread for the scratchbuild profile X-31?
If anyone knows kindly provide me the links as I would like to add mine into it.
Cheers.

My humble hangar building up slowly but surely!!
Hey Guys,
Since I cant build till my departure for the P.I.
I decided to get down on Sketchup, this is my very first trial and I actually have to redo it as there was some mistakes with the different layers that I couldn't clean up properly but anyway it will give you an idea of what I'm planning to build whenever I can...
This wing I found on the web, browsing randomly, appealed me and I decided to give it a go. I choose for that to make like a kFm8+1 type of wing.
Here are some pictures of the original build and few of my sketchup very first attempt. I love this software!! Awesome stuff!!

Here is a new build I decided to start along with the SR-71 and the B & V P-215 I have started earlier...
My intention is to replace carbon fiber rods by BBQ Skewers...
Will probably post the completed build tomorrow.
Here are some updated pictures of the plane. It is assembled now... Have to fix the electronics and will be ready to do the maiden very soon...
Build is completed, the maiden is forcast for tomorrow.
Maiden was a success dispite the heavy wind we had......Continue Reading

I'm planning to build this Bholm & Voss P215 but in foam...
It is more or less looking like a Delta wing and was wondering what kind of set up I was to do on this build, From the pictures it looks like there is ailerons, elevators and rudders...
I think I should just make a mix ailerons/elevators.
If anyone have an idea and could advise me, please feel free to do so.
Cheers.

Hi to all,
I have decided to rebuild the FPV double tail pusher prop from Mickey's rc, I will call "The Squale"
I didn't set it up for FPV so I will simply call it the double tail pusher prop, maid out of Depron sheet covered with thin layer of vinyl.

Final project at the airfield. Very stable plane, very good unit for Newbies! Fly slow but could go quite fast if it is required. -

Hi,
I'm in the process of building a Tuffy Trainer on floats, I completed the inner fuselage and the tail already but I have little concern regarding the tail which wobble a bit too much to my taste...
Does any buddy have comments to make on that?
Tips to help me stiffen that without adding too much weight on the tail side?
Thank you in advance....Continue Reading

Hi to all,
I have so many project in mind and started but so little time to work on them... Story of everybody's life...
I recently flew in a Microlight and love it, I'm planning to take the training course to be licensed
I'm of course making the model of it with a 2200 motor...
I just have to buy some balsa wood this time, it won't be a full foamy as usual. I blew up the 3 view I have from it and tried to blow it up a bit as the A0 print I made still seems to be very small.
Anyway pictures of the building progress will be uploaded as I go.
Here we go as promiss, my build is completed and I'm posting the pictures now...
For those which are building in balsa they may laugh at this build but this is my first time and honestly we can't find whatever we want over here in the UAE or probably I don't have the good addresses to find things.
Anyway, I have to thank my dearest friend Skysailor51 which give me a great help as usual on the field this Friday, adjusting my plane. (he is like the god father of the hobby there as a lot of guys come ti him for advise and help... lol)...Continue Reading

Hi to all,
I'm new to the hobby, only few months back, I use to do petrol monster truck back in Saudi Arabia but I found it to much headache on settings and cleaning, unfortunately nothing available that time for RC flight in Saudi for security reasons... no comments. I've read recently that they are finally starting in Riyadh, good for them.
Anyway I'm based now in Ras Al Kaimah, UAE and have most probably the best field to try out my different models, a golf course, it is not really allowed as Golfer don't want to have anything in their space but I'm really understanding and try to fly when there is no one on the field.
The good point of flying electric is the no noise, so even if there is golfer on the course, I'm not really disturbing them...
As I said in my profile I have build already about 15 different models, all in foam board some successfully some disastrous but thats the name of the game. I decided to go for foamy profile as it is really cost effective (9AED per sheet or 2.4$ the sheet, 1 sheet=1 plane)
I thought as I'm new to the hobby I'd rather spend my money in the electronic gear instead of buying ready made plane which cost from 163$ for the cheapest up to whatever price you want to put really...
I have to thank all the people on the net which are posting free plans as my collection goes more than 1000 different models which I might end up doing if I live long enough!
I will start posting my different build for the more advance flyers out there to...Continue Reading
