I built a FPV Tracking System hardware and Electronics to send/receive using GPS data. I have flown 20+ flights, a plug and play that connects the vid in/out with gps data in airplane. the unit calculates the Lat/Lon/Alt and sends to ground station only the degrees and altitude of the planes location. The ground station reads 10/sec the data and converts to PWM to pan and tilt servo. I programmed the RX to accept standard servo or use the 3.5turn servo from hitech.

The day I tried to order some OSD system, the item was back ordered for several weeks, so, I decided to design my own system using PIC24 or PIC32 uC chips. Went further and design the tracking patch antenna, it works very well tracking the RC plane. I fly Radian as test subject and 5.8Hgz A/V system. The video will tell. Has anyone been so into to a point of designing your own system? or it is just me.
