What a way to spend the winter. Just wanted to let people know that I am back in full production after recovering from my broken ankle and surgery in November. All backorders are complete and shipping this week and I am back to full production and preparing for the WRAM Show and SEFF. If you are looking for a specific RTF for WRAM pickup, please contact me as the ones I took last year were gone by 2pm friday. It is so good to be back mobile and productive again.

This is the video I put together of the noontime demo of our flat foamie ME-109 and Spitfire. My video camera died and so I had to use my iPhone 3GS so I mixed in some pictures from SAWatt with his permission. Thank you Steve, and thank you Dave and Devin for flying the demo saturday and sunday

NEAT Fair Demo 2013 (3 min 17 sec)

Summer is winding down with this weekend being Labor Day and with it brings the onset of the NEAT Fair. This year has certainly been busy with going to all the various shows as well as bringing out several new kits.

The NEAT Fair this year will do a recreation of the Battle of Britain and we were asked to come out with an ME-109 kit to go up against our popular Spitfire. We have released that and it flies quite well. At one of the events this summer, the Warwick NY Fun Fly, I did combat with my trusty Spitfire and even though it was getting a little long in the tooth (just check out the prop cuts on the right wing), I was able to win the event, grabbing several streamers and outlasting the rest of the field just using a 1000mah 3S pack

We are also now shipping our kit for the Leadfeather 3D Delta. This plane has a loyal following on RCG and is a stable flyer with lots of capabilities.

The final pair of new offerings are also from an RCG member, Joel "MetroGTI" Dirnberger. After looking for a fun little float plane to bop around with one of my local buddies, I came across Joel's H-Blu-O. Having met Joel at SEFF and looked at the plane, I decided that was what i would make for myself. Once I mentioned I was going to make one, I got requests to cut extras for other people. Things snowballed and I was suddenly kitting the new plane. It made sense since all the electronics were the same as the Mini Gremlin I already kit and so that is how it happened. The BluFO is a non-float version (which actually came first) and so that was a no brainer to add in as well.

Once we finish up with NEAT we start restocking for the trip down to Georgia in October for HHAEFI. If you end up at any of these events, be sure to stop over and say hi!

What a great event at a wonderful field.
Got back tuesday from WATTS over Owatonna and am getting settled in and rebuilding inventory as I sold out of a lot of what I took with me. By far the most popular kit was the new BluFO which was designed by one of the local pilots and I took orders and cut another 23 yesterday which will go out to fulfill orders from the event. I haven't even gotten time to update the website or order form to include it! Sold out and took orders for our painted Yak kits also. Those will be in stock by monday. Thank you to everyone that stopped by! I will be back next year.

Had an amazing time at Joe Nall this year. This was my first Nall and it certainly won't be my last. We were warned that the ground was soft from recent rains and so I showed up sunday morning to set up. I was in the National Balsa booth space which worked out well as we were able to spell each other for booth coverage. Despite the weather warnings prior to the show, the weather during the show couldn't have been better. It was dry and the winds weren't bad the entire week. The only rain was on saturday, the last day which screwed up some people making a weekend day trip but I left saturday morning early having sold out by thursday. Because I was at SEFF just 8 days prior, I had to restock product before going and I spent all my time preparing and painting kits. Since most of my reason and customers at these outdoor shows are for the prebuilt bind and fly planes I offer but cannot ship at reasonable prices (Contact me if you want one with a $60 S&H cost) I decided that I would build the kits AT the show and sell them. I was able to build 2 a day and what I found was that they provided a good "build example" as I went and a great demo of Foam-Tac glue which I also sell. I have converted over at this point to build entirely with Foam-Tac and I have to say it has worked great. no more screwing up the paint job with the CA accelerator doing the wing spars and faster than the UHU I was using so I can build continuously and not have to wait for drying time overnight....Continue Reading

I got home from SEFF yesterday and all I can say is WOW. I can see why so many people make the pilgrimage annually. It was great meeting so many of the people I know online and participating in the after hours fun. Thanks to Don Sims for taking the picture of me in the booth shown below. And thanks to Jim T Graham for the interview in the latest RCG podcast

Now, 8 days to prep for Joe Nall!!

I really enjoyed the Toledo show and it was good to meet some of you and chat with some customers. I never did get to walk upstairs to see the table areas up there and didn't get to walk the floor too much but saw some friends and hopefully made a few new ones. All the orders received during the show have been processed and shipped and now I am busy restocking to go on the pilgrimage known as SEFF (my first time). I will be back from SEFF for a little more than a week and then immediately head back out to Joe Nall (also for the first time). If anyone wants anything specific at the shows, please email me as my time is limited so I'm not sure I will have large quantities of everything at the shows but I am happy to set something aside when asked

Thank you to everyone for a great WRAM show this year. It was good to meet a lot of people and we had a great show. In continuing the trend I am looking at going to the Toledo show and having some planes in the National Balsa booth there, heading down to SEFF for the first time and then heading to Joe Nall in May and also being in the National Balsa space there. Later in the year there will be Warbirds over Delaware and in the fall the NEAT Fair. Gonna get my travel miles in this year!

I just wanted to give people a heads up that I will be helping out my buddy and manning the National Balsa booth at this year's WRAM Show. I will be bringing kits and BnF Yak55 planes so if there is something specific you want, let me know and I will have it there for you at the booth. I will have some Spitfires as well as 3D Deltas as well as painted and unpainted kits. Let me know what you want and when you will be there and I will put your name on it and set it aside

We've come a long way since WRAM 1998!!
