Hi all, I just thought that I would like to share my experiences with my 4G6 on my blog. With only my E-flite Blade mcx (coaxial) micro as previous heli experience, I am a complete newbie in single rotor collective pitch helis in general and the notoriously agile 4G6 in specific. However, after seeing some of the great movies and mods, and given the small size of the heli, I was completely hooked and order my 4G6 just prior to Christmas.
My 4G6' maidenflight was a disaster. Overreacting, too small airspace (living room), I made about every mistake a newbie can make. However, I still had a lot of fun. Inside, I broke the main rotor blades twice (just received a sixpack and training gear), went outside (gutsy wind!) and the tail caught in the grass which shredded my front tail gear (known weak spot, ordered 5 gear sets), after which I am grounded until the gears are delivered.
Now I make use of my grounding time by browsing the forums (links below) for any information on mechanics, electronics, and handling (flight school). My intention is to collect all this info (relevant to the 4G6) in my blog and keep track of my progress at the same time. Maybe it can be of use to others as well.
