As helicopters are gaining populatiry in our flight club, I felt like having abit of a stir and threw together a Hoverfoam. It "flies" really poorly but is a great laugh. I've god some short vids of "flight" and will post (eventually).

I've recently built the Blu-51ips ( with some modifications. I extended the traiming edge of the wing to make it square and added 2.54cm to each wing tip for more wing area.

It goes really niceand hopefully will get some photos up here eventually.

Lastly, an index 3 is under way. This is to replace the mini-3DX. After trying srl's Index 2, I'm sold on the ease of manipulating these cool planes.

I've updated this with the first night's build effort. Lower fuse on and most of the bracing done. Now to wait for the glue to cure .

After bracing and before gear photos added.

After gear (up to airleron rods) added.

Added an image of the plane ready to fly.

The thread with original plans is here:

I've got an 18" F22 made from coro but haven't had it in the air yet. I need to reprogram my transmitter for the elevon mixing.

The photo's a bit dodgy but it was taken with my phone.

Here's the original thread:

Ok, so now I'm slowly learning - if you're going to build heavy, you need more wing area to get the lift.

My next try at atrainer is Jimmy's J-Bug. Another good, tried and proven design. This time I've got it about right but have a problem with it being severly tail heavy .

However, a first-time flyer has had it in the air and under control so I reckon it's a winner.

I did, extend the wings by another couple of inches to try and compensate for my heavy building tendency.

No photos - yet. Hopefully I remember to take some photoc before I trash it.

I built and mangled a trainer One. Trying to get a floaty trainer for my son to learn with. Unfortunately, a bad choice of weighty parts and poor power selection made it never really get going well.

This has now been retired and replaced with the J-Bug.

I really liked the mini-3DX. But, my objective was a small indoor plane and I built it way too heavy and it was far too fast for my skills and F3P flying.

It recently came to an end as I lost it in bad light and flew it into a tree. The motor, speedy and receiver will go to an Index 3.

The PT-20 has a mid-air which killed the wing. I've built a NACA2415 straight wing and it flies like a new beast. My next exercise will be a significant weight loss program for it.

This was my first plane. Built from the bals kit.
I learnt to fly with this baby. It's had some hard landings, a few take-off cartwheels and plenty of loving attention in the workshop.
