Well I am not a big blogger but thought I would give it a try on a random topic.
Yesterday my son and his wife were in before his overseas deployment and the family dog ate his MAC power supply. It was clearly my fault so I simply went and bought him another one which left me with the chewed up one as a spare.
After doing some internet searches on the repair process I decided I would cut the old one apart and see if I could fix the cord. Worked on pretty well using all the standard hobby tools most all of us have. The dremel cutter was absolutely required.
While the results are not as pretty as the original Apple component the supply certainly works as well as it did orginally.
If there is any interest in this blog entry I will consider posting pics.
