Great Weekend
Well I had an absolute blast this weekend.
Their was an Full Scale Fly-In that me and my dad went to ...
We met a couple of Foambusters and other RC fliers their. We were standing buy Chris Woodwards J-3 Cub when he asked if I wanted to go for a ride. I said yes ... signed a waiver ... and got in the air !
It was really fun , and I even got a little stick time. It was so fun and I hope to do it again.
I then got some good flying in today at the flying field ....
I will post video and pictures when I get some more time ...
What an awesome 16th birthday ...

I tried out my new glider.....
It didn't have enough power , but I was using a small prop , so I will use a bigger one.
The Firewall didn't hold after a couple minutes in the air it came off.
So I need to fix the damage and remount the firewall. Not to bad , at least I know it will fly.
I also used some Wing Tape on my Pylon Racer to make it easier to see , I almost have the right power system , I just need to order it and install it.
The AMX jet had an issue , on my first landing of the day , a crosswind got me and made me over correct causing the plane to tumble.
It broke the nose off a little and the wing tips.
Upon inspection on the nose I found it needed to be replaced , so I found an old nose cone and I am going to paint it yellow and glue it where the old nose was.

I finally finished converting my glider/sailplane. It ain't pretty but it should work.
I had to put the servos way far back to balance the plane , but at least they work. I need to get a new folding prop , the one I am using doesn't fit correctly with the spinner on.
I hope it will thermal semi well ... if not I will take the motor off and get a real sailplane.
I also got a plane in the mail today ! Its a Hobby City Mini Swift ... I thought it was a neat little plane and it was cheap , so I got it.
Next project ... Pylon Racer

DC-3 Crash
I was flying Sunday and a friend of mine crashed his DC-3 ..... so I made this video about it.
I got a lot of flying in , and no damage to report. I killed a Li-po , it dropped a cell in flight and hit LVC , so I order two new ones two replace it.
I am getting closer to finishing the glider , all I have to do is figure out how to get the servos farther back ...
I ordered a Hat Cam so more videos soon.

I got some EPP foam , some spackle and went to work.
I first cut out all the expanded ,shrunken and melted foam out.
Then I cut out a piece of EPP the size of the hole and hot glued it in.
I got the Spackle out and covered the foam.
I then sanded it down until it looked good and I was pleased.
Paint wouldn't have helped with discoloration , so I didn't bother , I just put some stickers over it and now you can't even tell.
Well , what do you think ?

Looks good as new !
Well on my last flight of the day .... DISASTER !
I was flying and just after take-off I lost power.
At this point I did really think it was a problem ... I was wrong ...
The landing was perfect ... better than usual , but as I was looking at the plane while bumping the throttle I noticed some white smoke ... OH NO !
I flipped of my hat and sunglasses knowing that they would fall off and RAN to the plane.
I arrived shocked and dismayed at what I saw , smoke coming from every part of the plane. I looked to see what the battery was doing , and if it was safe to touch it. If was fine and I unplugged it and ripped the receiver out and let the smoke die down.
I then took the cowl off and found the aftermath ... the ESC completely burnt to a crisp
, darn Hobby City ESC's.
Their was some damage , a hole in the side of the plane , and some burn marks , nothing to serious , I thought it was pretty funny.
I think the problem was that the ESC did not have air cooling , but I thought it would be ok because of the fact that it was a 40 AMP ESC that I would probably be only running at about 20 AMPS. I was wrong.
It will fly again ... now all I need is a sticker to go over the hole in the fusealage .... anybody have any ideas ?

I got to the field with my dad at about 7:30 , it was already windy and I really couldn't fly what I wanted.
I flew my T-28 four times , and my Reno Racer twice .....
As I was packing up , a good friend of mine named Bruce arrived and gave me this plane !
He said a guy gave a bunch away and he thought I would like it. Its a PYLON RACER !
What a nice thing he did.
Their were also some other planes , and I picked out a glider body , and a glider wing that I will fix up and get flying.
If you have any information on these planes please tell me !

I finished my Reno Racer ... I got my batteries and finished it up.
It flies ok , but the motor is giving me some troubles , sometimes it does weird things , but I think I figured it out. I need to order a better ESC.
I also got the new motor fly my Sukhoi from Headsuprc , I hope it works !
I also am going to upload some pictures of how I turned my T-28 into a taildragger.
