Hi, this is my first blog to R/C groups. I used to race R/C cars many years ago beginning in the late 70's. I ran 1/8th. scale nitro and 1/12th. scale electric for about 12 years. I helped found the first R/C car club in Alaska that was affiliated with R.O.A.R. and served as Pres, Vice Pres, Sec/treas, etc. for many years. I finally got burned out on the hobby and have been away from it since 1990. Last summer I started to get the urge to get back into the hobby but this time I wanted to fly aircraft instead. I joined AMA and a local "non competitive" model club called Frontier Funflyers.
Attached is some pics of my fleet of aircraft. The nitro trainer is an old Royal ARF thats no longer in production that I purchased from a fellow club member. Its a great flyier. Its powered by a Supertigre .40 and steered with a Futaba 7CAP. The Decathlon was a Seagull ARF that met its demise on it's maiden flight. Pilot error was the culprit. It was powered by an OS .40 and steered by the same 7CAP. The Bird Dog is a V-Mar ARF powered by an E-Flite 470 outrunner and will cruise for 20 minutes at half throttle on a 3C 2100 mah. lipo. It's controlled by the same 7CAP. I have an E-Flite CP Pro heli in the works that I havent photographed yet and I'm going to pilot it with a Spektrum DX6i. I have a Great Planes Riot in the works for indoor flying this winter that'll be controled by the Spektrum too.
