Yesterday at the downtown airport they had a mini-airshow. There was a P-51C "Betty Jane", a B-17 "Nine-o-Nine and a B-24 "Witchcraft". You could stand behind the gate and take pictures for free or you could pay $12 to get up close and personal with the planes...so I eagerly had Travis pay $12 for me to get in Thanks Travis! After looking around and taking some pictures I decided to take the grand tour of the B-24. Walk in to the tail of the plane, past the side turrets and into the bomb bay. I was unable to walk into the B-17 as the line was ridiculously long. But I have been inside of one before and I have to ask. If the airplane is that figgin big why are they so small inside?

Anyway after that quick tour of the B-24 we got to watch somebody take a ride in the mustang. The prices for that ride were $2300 for a 1/2 hour ride or $3300 for a full hour We stood by as it fired up, taxied out and took off. One quick flight around the pattern and he did a low flyby. I forgot how intoxicating the sound from a V-12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine is, gets deep down and stirs the soul. One can only imagine what it would be like to see a dozen of these birds in formation going for a low pass. After she did a low pass it was off into the blue sky only to be seen again a half an hour later.

All in all it was nice to see the big beautiful birds that are still flying around. Makes me wish I was back in Florida where they still have air shows.

I love my DX6i but I have always wanted a couple of more channels and more functions. After the Radian Pro surfaced that sealed the deal and I started the hunt for a new radio. I mentioned I was considering a DX8 and John mentioned that he was trying to sell a JR XP9303. I immediately sold the DX6i and bought the Johns 9303.

I also recently traded my 1/18 scale Losi Mini Rock Crawler for a 1/8 Scale RedCat Rockslide Super Crawler. I have been having a lot of fun with this thing.

The Great Escape was recently asked to bring some R/C trucks from the store up to Roper Mountain Science Center. They had a small classic car show, Lego Robotics and our R/C cars along with the entire science center. It was a chance to bring the kids out and have some fun. We brought out several recently released 1/10 ElectrixRC Stadium Trucks, a highly modified T-Maxx, my Rockslide Crawler and a Slash 4x4 VXL. All in all we had a blast showing off to all the kids and a bunch of kids had fun driving the Rockslide. Ill post some pictures when I can find where I put them on my computer.

So almost 2 months ago I had a really really really bad day of flying and destroyed my 2 planes. I crushed 2 of my blue lipos as the impacts were that hard. I put them on the roof of my jeep as we were packing everything up and completely forgot they were there. About 4 miles later on the 8th or 9th turn they fell off and bounced off the road at about 60mph. Got them home and left them outside because of the smell. And then I forgot about them again until about 20 min ago. Thought I would post some pictures of what happens to a lipo when its crunched, bounced off the road at 60mph and forgotten outside for 2 months.
