Canopy added to Nimbus. Got it yesterday from Etienne' at Icare' Sailplanes; shipped nice and very pristine. Canopy is totally removable at hinges by sliding out retaining pins in fuselage after opening.
SLS doors painted and being glued to hinges on Nimbus-4DM
SLS doors fabricated out of thin balsa sheets and then coated with many layers of Epoxy with fiberglass cloth underneath the doors to increase torsional stiffness.
I cut a paper template by tracing over actual SLS opening, then applied template to Balsa. The balsa was soaked in warm water and taped down to fuselage until dried to conform to fuselage shape. This was tough as the Balsa sometimes buckled and flattene
Doors with glassing underneath and layers of epoxy to increase torsional rigidty. Another layer of epoxy has been applied to underside and doors are presently curing as I write this.
Trial fit of doors to fuse after initial curing.
