Got to fly indoors tonight.
Here are some pictures. That is my friend Nokey there flying. If you look close you can see my Night Vapor.

I went up to Tulsa with a friend. He had another friend moving stuff from one hanger to another.
Well when we got there all that was in the new hanger was a Cessna Centurion.
So since it was a good sized hanger and we had my Night Vapor and his Ember we got in some flying. Even his friend flew some. He flew the Ember first. Then my NV. Got pretty comfortable with it too.
After that we did some airplane watching. All I had was my cell phone so I snapped a couple of pictures of some of the planes we saw there. The two that are of the same type belonged to a friend of his.
So with out further ado here are the pics I took.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving
When we face adversity and challenges it shows what is most important and what we shouldshould most appriciate and be thankful for. The people in our lives.
We need to let them know how we feel about them. Don't take them fdor granted or let it fo for another time. We don't know for sure there will be a next time.
I love and appreciate all those in my life that I am close to.

I can no longer build ( even arfs are tough now) kits but still able to fly some.
I am hoping to find a well built Mountain Models Eva Sport. I sold the last one I built a while back. And have been sorry I sold it ever since.
Hopefully I can find another that has been well built while I can still fly one!
I have posted in the forums in the past. But so far no luck.

Still able to fly but building is over now.
I have had to make a hard decision. I am giving up on building kits and scratch built models. It is just getting too hard anymore.
I will keep flying for as long as I can. And I hope that is for a couple of more years at least. But it will have to be airplanes that either are bought from someone or arfs.
I hate do this since building has always been a huge part of what I enjoy in the hobby. But when I have to struggle to build something in weeks or months that always I was able to get done in hours. And I am not as happy with the results.
It is time to stop. If my health ever improves some how maybe I can build again.
But with MS and some other problems that is not likely. Still I will keep the hope alive.
I was going to build another Eva Sport since it really fits how I like to fly. But not going to happen now.
And no one wants to sell theirs! So now to search for a plane that flies like one. Not an easy task!
I like a thick airfoil good low speed handling and good basic (not 3D) ability. And of course I still prefer balsa over foam!

Storm on the way.
Looks like a big thunderstorm and wind storm on the way.
We have some branches hanging pretty close to our roof and power line.
So if I am not online after tonight that will be why!
I can go online on my cell phone. But it has it's limits too.
Weather is looking good in the long range forecasts for the fly in though!
Hopefully tonight we will just get some much needed rain and no damage.

Well lucky me... I was walking out to the car. My legs went out from under me and I went down. Did you hear the boom? Well my right foot folded under me and now my right ankle is swollen huge and hurts like

:
It seems like it might well be broken.
Sure did not need that! With the fly in soon and all....

Back in Oklahoma
Well made it back from Iowa. I was never able to make contact with any rcgroupers while I was there. So that was a disappointment.
But onwards and upwords! Back to working on the Fly In!
Still need sponsors and warm bodies to run the event!

Going to be in DeSoto Iowa from Friday through Sat.
Leaving early in morning for Iowa. I will be in town from Friday through Saturday and heading back early Sunday morning.
I would like to meet up with some fellow fliers while I am there.
I won't be able to get on rcg while I am there. But can check email on my phone.
So anyone who would like to get together send me an email at w281959@yahoo.com

Last night was not a good night for Wewoka. There a total of 3 fires last night. One was the home of a man who went a couple of blocks away to the store. He sees a firetruck go by. He gets home to find his home in flames. A total loss.
There was another fire north of town. And another home gone...
The in town there was a fire in a cafe called CJ's. It is still burning now. A total loss. The business next door, Sniders printing and signs is also a total loss from water and smoke damage.
This small town did not need this. And there are people homeless and with out jobs too.
Worst of all the fire downtown that took two businesses appears to be arson...
I will try and post some pictures later.

trip to Iowa
I am planning on being in the area of Earlam ( Des Moines) for a couple of days starting around June 10th. Going to try and bring a plane or two with me. Would be great to hook up with some fellow r/c fliers while I am there and see if I can keep from breaking anything!

I am uploading a couple of pictures now from one of the twisters we had yesterday. This one hit the airport in Seminole.
Fly In And sponsors
As many of you have I am sure seen there is a sticky in the electric airplanes forum about the 2nd annual Dust Bowl Fly In.
It is a long thread and I know a lot of people may not feel like reading the whole thing.
A short version is that we hold a Model Airplane Fly in with all power sources welcome.
There is also going to be some full size aircraft there. GREAT BBQ! And several flying events.
We also will be selling fly in merchandise and raffling off prizes.
All profits are donated to the National Multipile Sclerosis Society to help find a cure for MS.
We are in desperate need of help. This need covers many areas. Prizes for the raffles, Cash to cover at least part of the expenses, Warm bodies to help man the event. And many many other areas.
The Fly In takes place September 10th,11th and 12th. With the main day being the 11th.
We also plan a short service to mark the time of the attacks of 9/11.
Please help in any way you feel you can!

So would you call this a micro plane? Or a parkflyer?
The end is here? Or is it only near?
It looks like my building days are about over. If not already over. I am having a terrible time now getting things done. Building is getting much harder and at times has lost its appeal for me.
Even covering ( even though I am not that great at it) which I always liked to do. Is getting tough to do and have it look presentable.
What used to take me a few minutes to do now takes days or even weeks to do.
I am going to finish up what I have in process now. And when they are all done. I am going to have to take a hard look at giving up building for good.
With the type of MS I have when you loose something it is for good. So if I stop building it will be permanent. Not something that is a pleasant thought. But looking more and more likely.
Just this morning I have been working on a wing. And I am going crazy with it. I cannot feel it in my hands and keep dropping it. I cannot cut a straight line using a steel straight edge and an exacto blade.
Kind of hard to do much building or covering with out being able to do that.
Time will tell for sure. But as of right now it looks like the building part of the hobby is just about over for me. After over 40 years.
I am not giving up flying yet. But even that I know does not have too much longer to go.
If you enjoy this hobby like I have over the years. TREASURE it! Every moment of it. It may not last for ever.

DO IT WHILE YOU CAN!!
One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore".. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say “I love you.."
So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage.....And old cars.... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Life is important, like people we know who are special... And so, we keep them close!
Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow

Wonderful New for us with MS!

if you are able.........
If you are able bodied be grateful. And if you are able to. Donate to a cause that helps those who are not.
My MS is taking a turn for the worse. It has brought more and more to mind what is going to happen. And that it may not be far off.
And I know there are many others facing the same thing I am. And much worse.
I have been active all my life. Did a lot of things. Flew my hang glider. Raced a stock car and did well.
Rode motocross.
Went hiking and bike riding. Had a blast. These things all have one big thing in common. I will never be able to do any of them ever again. I am truly glad I had the chance to do them. And that I took advantage of that and went for it.
Now I have the challenge of staying active in the hobby. That is becoming more and more challenging. And I know that building will soon be a thing of the past for me. I am not completely resigned to giving that up just yet. But it will not be long. What would have taken me a few minutes before now takes hours and some times days to do.
I can still fly. But even that is changing. And I know one of these days I will be down to watching others fly their planes and talking.
But again I am glad I have been able to enjoy the hobby for so long. See so many changes happen. See the hobby grow and mature.
So please. If you can help someone get started. Do it. If you can help someone fly who might not be able to otherwise do it. You will be glad you did!
And if you can donate to MS research or other cause that helps fight a disease that affects people's lives so much. Please do!
Be grateful for what you can do now and make the most of it. All too soon and so easy it can be gone for good.
