Strange combination...
Red Bull and Ande's Candies taste like cough syrup when you try to wash down one with the other. A truly unfortunate thing, considering how much I like each of those things by themselves.

A LHS had a depron building contest early in the summer of '09, and I got sucked in, hook, line, and sinker. The rules were pretty simple. Winners would be based upon VOTES (not judged) by anyone that came into the LHS. Depron had to be a major component of the build. (You could glass it, or attatch it to other stuff, or whatever, but the depron HAD to be a major component of the build.) And it had to be a plane-type-thing. No depron cars, boats, helis, or static display stuff. The only other factor was that at the end of the contest, the thing had to FLY in order to claim a prize.
At first I had some crazy idea about building aome weird interlaced "X" shaped thing. I didn't even get to drawing a sketch before that idea was scrapped. I thought about telling the shop owners to take me off of the list for the contest, but never placed that call. Then, I decided to act on an idea I've had for years.

(and STILL can't. Those Gibson...Continue Reading

Initially, the vertical stabs were long to make it look like it was on a guitar stand. I had hoped it had enough juice to take off this way, but that was not the case. -

You can't see it very well here, but it has a very "dragster-ish" rake. This prevented it from taking flight on the first 2 or 3 tries. -

A crappy shot of what clearly looks like a first-time scratch build. -

Crashed and repaired, and flown, and crashed, and repaired, and painted, and voted on. Soon to be crashed again!
