What an awesome jet! The maiden was nearly flawless - I put a bit of up-trim as a precaution but ended up taking it all out - zero trim required. More than enough power on 5S with the 28L56 motor, it went vertical until I started losing sight (the jet weighs almost exactly 2kg, or 4lbs 6oz).

Frank was along as tech support and brought his T-33, unfortunately his suffered a flameout just off the bungee launcher and went into the bushes - he tells me his repairs should be complete by now (he was fortunate to lose only a tip tank)

The two T-33s:

One more video. Starting to get this sucker dialed in. The biggest issue I had earlier was the thrustline - lots of pitching down at high power settings, especially at low airspeed when the elevators are ineffective. I put a bunch of up thrust in which seems to really help. There is still some interaction, I'm going to add a bit more for next time.

I'm not really sure how to measure it - there isn't much to use as a reference. I'll see what I can work out. Of course your mileage may vary - with a 60mm fan, the thrustline will be lower and you probably won't need as much up thrust.

Here's the video of the latest flight. This one is using the club launcher, which is much lower to the ground than Frank's, so you spend much of the launch in ground effect. Watch this video, you won't be disappointed!

Some nauseating onboard footage from my 3D Hobby Shop Extra 300 SHP. This was taken with an $8 808 keychain camera with a 0.67X macro lens for cellphone cameras hot-glued to to it.
