Clearwater Lake Missouri

Gina and I searched out a couple Marina's while visiting Clearwater lake. But with all the rain the lake was rising quickly. The owner of Bluff View Marina (Dave) would have a boat for us on Sunday morning. We woke up to more rain and cold weather on Sunday. Instead we headed off to Taum Sauk Mountain for a 3 mile hike to see the Falls on the highest mountain in Missouri.
Flown with the HT- FPV Quadcopter.

SATURDAY FLIGHTS ST. LOUIS (2 min 38 sec)

My FPV sessions starts at Creve Coeur Lake, with first shot taken of new students learning to Row. Followed by seasoned rowers enjoying a run across the lake. Afterwards I'm in Pacific checking out the club field to find the owner and his son watching the Meramec River come up onto his land. He was showing his son how to bow for 25# carp that were in the flood waters. I was out low searching for the carp with the HT- FPV Quad copter while his son enjoyed a flight on the goggles. We had to leave as the water was coming up quickly. As I waited for my son to arrive near by, I shot a couple of scenes of the town of Pacific and Amtrak train passing by.

We had a chance to fly over on the Illinois side at the Chain of Rocks Bridge. With the water down on the Mississippi we flew from a large sand bar. First video, more to come with use of Bixler and the Scout Bee.

Hope to be able to help again sometime. Great club! Lesson learned ! Next time I will use my GPS cordinates on my OSD once loaded to PC. Then punch it into a Garmin / i phone, and walk directly out to the plane. Less damage to crops.

Following a path at park was a little bit of challenge, but going to the track and trying to keep it at a certain speed and height, was ugly. Need more practice.

Very enjoyable stay at Thousand Hills State Park. My family enjoyed the cabins, boating, swimming, and fishing for our 4 day stay.
I was very impressed to see how well the Restaurant, boat rental and the rest of the facilities were taken care of. The restaurant, you must try. Fantastic!

DEER BANANZA (2 min 59 sec)

"I just want to fly" What was I thinking! We've been in drought conditions for months now. And for the Fourth of July all fireworks were band in our area.
You might see me in the shadows of the trees. It was 106*/ 40 celcius at 1930 hrs. Brutal!

Slope Soaring at Long Branch Lake

LONG BRANCH LAKE (2 min 46 sec)

On our drive up to Thousand Hills Lake for our mini vacation we stopped and checked out Long Branch Lake in Macon Missouri. 20 years ago I would come to this lake with members of Mississippi Valley Soaring Association in the Fall months and fly our slopers from the dam.
Before I flew I noticed I had a huge mayfly on my shirt sleeve. Soon after my first toss, a bazillion Swallows joined me in flight "the Mob affect"
Never seen so many!
