Well it's only been a year since I put this plane together. But much has happened since.
I finally took the corsair to the school yard this morning. Over all the flight went well. I did nose over on my landing but to be honest, it could have been much worse. Note, this was pretty much my personal maiden flight with any fixed wing model. I did manage to fly an original pz mustang (brushed) with the crappy 3 channel POS Tx... but that is all... Only ever flew heli before.

Can't wait to get out there again!

Well I gave in to my urges and shot the fuselage. I shot it out of order too. But the real trouble is in the paint. This is Fred Myer HD aluminum. it actually looks fantastic if you shoot a perfectly smooth surface. But, on this foamy I find it to be really unforgiving. Every little imperfection is extremely amplified..

If I really wanted too I suppose one could float a heavy coat of filler, primer and sand it for weeks to a perfectly smooth finish. Then etch the panel lines back in.... But in my opinion that would be wayyyyy too much!

I'll wait till tomorrow and see if my impression hasn't changed. But I think I will be coating over this with plain old metallic silver....

shot two coats primer onto the wing tonight. It's not a bad start. Next I'll attempt to carefully etch the few panel lines into the new section and clean up any that were buried under the putty. Finally, I think 320-400 grit and one more primer coat. Then prep for a finish color...

I know it sounds like allot. But, ain't nothing compared to plastic modeling!!! Also, I'll fly this model in "pre-loss condition" or better so help Me gawd!!! After I maiden, I may let My self slouch a bit.

I scheming on an complete repaint... Not sure yet... stay tuned.

REMOVED THE SHREDDED SECTION (Just cut that crap out!!) 3.INSTALLED FOAM PLUG. 4-5. ROUGH SHAPE PLUG. 6-7. MIX A BATCH OF "BONDO" AND COAT.

Well, Home depot did a fairly good job of matching the nose color. So I did the exhaust manifolds and pipes. Also coated the cowl and spinner to match.
