After a long sleep in the clusters of my hard disk drive, the Canadair CL-415 project is back on track !

I learnt some new building tricks using a hot wire cut during the build of my Me-109E PSS project and i hope to use them again for building this bird.

4th of July Update : i don't want a too big bird so... Scale is fixed at 1/32.
Span will be 90cm (35.5 inches) ; lenght : 69cm ; height : 28 cm

A Rendez vous at the slope with some friends after our day at work... What else ?

Tuesday Afterwork HD (7 min 32 sec)

4 Arcus Airy 780 on the slope + a Phoenix 1600 = a lot of fun !

My little self designed Me-109 E PSS glider is finished and waits for the spring time south breezes to be maidened at the slope

I did my best to try to reproduce the Me-109 E4 flown by the Gruppenkomander Hans VON HAHN from the I/JG3 during WWII.

There was too much time that this kit was in my stash...

The box is now opened and the build started slowly.

There is a lot of vaccuum formed parts in this Kit that are not so easy to assemble.

The wing : Here again, the quality is not as good as it should be.
-Once the correct dihedral is set, there is a lack of foam (about 1.5 to 2mm) on the extrados of the wing .
-The location of the two ailerons control rods are also not identical. I had to cut the one that was in left wing and to correct the systems both in height and in length.

I'm a bit disgusted by a so poor quality... i think i will pause this build and back on it later.

i just finished to draw the CAD plan of an Extra 300 / Mx designed by Arm1s.

This plane is very great looking and also fly VERY well.

You can find the plan download links here and also some very nice video of this plane performing 3D flights :

Drawing this plan allowed me to get mee more familiar with the new improvements of the Turbocad designer 21 software i bought a couple of monthes ago to replace my hold Turbocad LE version that was not Windows 7 / 8 capable.

Thanks a lot to Arm1s for the pictures and axplanation that allowed me to draw the plan.

I hope you will enjoy to build this nice plane !

I fitted my little F16 PSS glider with new servos to improve the roll rate.

The test flights have been successful

Hi friends,

Yesterday a small parcel have been delivered at home.
Inside was the new lovely little Jet EPO Chuck Gliders from Hobby King called X16, X18 and X22.

Ofcourse, you all guessed we are speaking about reproductions of a F16 "Fighting falcon" , a F18 "Hornet" and a F22 "Raptor".

The time needed to build them is under the minute per plane. You just have to insert the rudder fins in the and the price is under $5 each (that's why I could not resit to add them on my last order!)

Span : 295mm
Lenght : 400 mm
Weight (as chunck) : 31 grammes

I bought them as a gift for my young nephews because i was thinking they could be some great toys to fly in the back yard or at the beach.

My Flight tests : These little Fighters are just.... Stunning !

At the first (gentle) thrown, they all glided, straight and up to 15 meters
The fitted molded rubber nose cones are also really great to absorb the shock in case of stall landing.

I'm sure that these three little chuck gliders can be converted as micro PSS and
as i have some under 3gr servos, a nano Rx and some 1S lipo available in my stash...
I think i will re-order a X16, X18 and X22 to try to convert them as micro R/C slope gliders very soon !

Stay tuned

I found this chart many times ago on the Web.

I don't remind where (may be here on Rc Groups) and i don't know who made it but i think thsi chart is a "must have" so i share it here.

The Me-109 is one of my favorite WWII Fighter.
I want to try to build a plane with a hot wire cut fuselage since many time now.
Early september, i decided to spend a bunch of hours on my CAD software for designing a small "Emil" (a Me-109 model E)

I will give a try with a P.S.S. glider version...

As this week end was stormy and rainy, i started to cut the templates.

A new adventure begins

: I finally opened a thread in the PSS / SLOPE gliders section of RcGroups.
It will be easier to manage than the blog.

Hi !

I've been in South Western France - at the "Dune du Pyla" - some days ago with some gliders and my HD wing cam....

Soaring from a sand dune facing the Ocean is a real pleasure !

This is a little video i made with the rushes i caught since the start of the soaring season with my Rc club Buddies. I use a HobbyKing HD wing cam.

Planeur 2013 (3 min 51 sec)

Small Ridge, not very efficient but soaring here always give us a lot of fun

Enjoy !

Hi !

I always be interested in small R/C gliders and planes so, when i saw this little Ask-21.... i couldn't resist !

Specs :
Span. : 86 cm
Lenght : 43 cm (Gosh ! it's very small !!! )
AUW : 87 grammes

4 channels : Elev. ; Ailerons ; rudder ; Towing system

This micro glider is a great looking semi-scale machine.
I've chosen the DSM2/DSMx Bind and Fly version :
The binding with the DSM2 module of my JR PCM 9XII was very easy.
Just have to pug the 1S lipo battery in the glider and start the classic binding procedure on my transmitter. It takes only a few seconds to be ready to take off !

The wing is removable from the fuselage : 4 little screws are used to fix the wing on the fuselage.

More or less, all the control surfaces parts seems to be correctly set from factory. If one of them need to be fine adjusted, you can do it by bending the "u" that is made on each push rods.

I will maiden her on the slope this afternoon after work, if the weather still be...Continue Reading
