I found this chart many times ago on the Web.

I don't remind where (may be here on Rc Groups) and i don't know who made it but i think thsi chart is a "must have" so i share it here.

The Me-109 is one of my favorite WWII Fighter.
I want to try to build a plane with a hot wire cut fuselage since many time now.
Early september, i decided to spend a bunch of hours on my CAD software for designing a small "Emil" (a Me-109 model E)

I will give a try with a P.S.S. glider version...

As this week end was stormy and rainy, i started to cut the templates.

A new adventure begins

EDIT
: I finally opened a thread in the PSS / SLOPE gliders section of RcGroups.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...2#post26676712
It will be easier to manage than the blog.

Hi !

I've been in South Western France - at the "Dune du Pyla" - some days ago with some gliders and my HD wing cam....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzrYu...ature=youtu.be

Soaring from a sand dune facing the Ocean is a real pleasure !

This is a little video i made with the rushes i caught since the start of the soaring season with my Rc club Buddies. I use a HobbyKing HD wing cam.

Planeur 2013 (3 min 51 sec)

Small Ridge, not very efficient but soaring here always give us a lot of fun

Enjoy !

Hi !

I always be interested in small R/C gliders and planes so, when i saw this little Ask-21.... i couldn't resist !

Specs :
Span. : 86 cm
Lenght : 43 cm (Gosh ! it's very small !!! )
AUW : 87 grammes

4 channels : Elev. ; Ailerons ; rudder ; Towing system

This micro glider is a great looking semi-scale machine.
I've chosen the DSM2/DSMx Bind and Fly version :
The binding with the DSM2 module of my JR PCM 9XII was very easy.
Just have to pug the 1S lipo battery in the glider and start the classic binding procedure on my transmitter. It takes only a few seconds to be ready to take off !

The wing is removable from the fuselage : 4 little screws are used to fix the wing on the fuselage.

More or less, all the control surfaces parts seems to be correctly set from factory. If one of them need to be fine adjusted, you can do it by bending the "u" that is made on each push rods.

I will maiden her on the slope this afternoon after work, if the weather still be...Continue Reading

Each summer time, i see some big birds painted yellow, red and black.
They fly over the county to survey the forest and fight any fire start they spot in the forests.

These birds are the famous Canadian water bombers Canadair CL-415.

Since many years an idea haunts my thoughts : These big birds are certainly "a bit" draggy but they have big wings, a tall rudder and their are fitted with a pretty big sized stabilizer so....

Since many years i thought It could be funny to try to reproduce a Canadair CL-415 as a glider / PSS model

I fed up to wonder how it could fly so.... I started to draw my own plan

I will use depron to build it and i still don't know if i will use an real airfoil for the wing or simply a KFm airfoil.

Building scheduled for this winter

To be continued...

Santa brought me a very nice present the last time we met :
A beautiful MX-2 with a nice blue, green and white paint scheme !

She's 1.40m span and electric powered.

During all the winter season I had no time to work on it but finaly i found some free time to spend on my present during the last weeks.

At first glance, the plane looks very sexy and well finished but when looking closer, no doubt, it's a Chineese designed Aircraft and, in my opinion, It is necessary to bring some modifications if we want to avoid unpleasant surprises.

* Hinges problem :
All the hinges are fitted with a plastic axis => DANGEROUS on such a big plane so i replaced them by Hinges fitted with a metallic axis.

* Elevator problem :
The mobile part of the elevator is molded in one part, 100% foam.
Nice, but this part is to soft : the area that link the two elevators and host the control horn can be twisted and i think it can even break while airborne if pulling "high G" - and that's the purpose of that plane, so...

I dug in the front side of the part and inserted a 3mm plywood reinforcement + epoxy. Now, the part is much more stiffer.

* Elevator pushrod problem :
The elevator link is able to be bent easily if we hold the moving part of the elevator.... not good at all, once airborne !

I used Epoxy to glue the tubular guide of the elevator pushrod on the output windows at the rear of the fuselage and i built a 2mm plywood reinforcement that hold the tubular guide at the...Continue Reading

I like this plane !

When i saw the Spare parts kit available at HK and the very low price of the kit, i couldn't resist...

The L39 made the travel with the Mig-15, in the same cardboard box...

I'm not a fan of EDF systems engines so, even if the plane have been designed to be powered by a 50mm EDF, i will convert this L-39 as a Pusher prop jet.
One more time, i plan to use a little 2205C 1400Kv Brushless from HK and a 10 to 12A ESC that can handle a 500mAh 3S 20c Lipo battery. I think i will try to use a 6x5 SF propeller for this plane.

The L-39 airframe is lighter than the Mig-15's, so i guess the plane should also be lighter once finished - May be something like 280gr ready for take off.
The 2205C engine have the perfect size !
The Motor mount can be stuck in the fuselage's air exhaust and the propeller still have enough space to turn freely behind the fuselage

I started to paint her (i will try to reproduce the 2009 Breitling jet team paint scheme).

Little update today : i had to add some lead in the nose to balance the plane correctly. The AUW weight is 300 gr...

The full throttle with 6x5 sf seems to push hard !!
I wait for a good weather to test fly her....

I'm doing a decals set and it will be available soon

Edit :

Saturday 02-18 15h00 : Flight tested !!!...Continue Reading

I like this little Mig !

This Mig15 was designed to be EDF powered but i've chosen to mount a brushless + propeller in the nose. With these solution, the plane is very light weight (325 gr) and very pleasant to pilot.

She can handle a wind up to 30km/h without any problem.

A must to have, for sure !!

You can find my "mini-review" of this kit here :

Enjoy !

Hi,

I'm currently working on a New project :

A spitfire Mk-XVIe with the clipped wings and bubble top canopy.

The scale will be 1:12 or 1:13,

Mostly 3mm Depron made.

I wanted to give a try to the Hans Joachim's building style.

The work started some month ago.

I have bought a house last summer and have a lot of work to do in it.

I hope to be able to finish this little warbird this winter !

Edit : Well i'm still working on this plane but this is the link for the thread :

Some PSS i have designed and build from scratch 20 years ago (pictures lower in the thread) :

A small Rafale C01 (balsa and styro + oracover) : definitely a bad flyer. i tried a flat wing (as most of our actual foamies) but without an engine to push her... This mini Rafale C01 PSS was a poor glider.... how sad
Rafale Status : Dismantled

I also made a Bigger Mig-29 Fulcrum (PSS).
The Mig29 was my first Fiber-glass fuselage built from scratch. I used sanded Styro foam covered with brown tape to build my positive mold... Big work and not to bad results.
May be one day i will put a Brushless on the rear of this bird
Mig Status : "wounded" but still...Continue Reading

This is my first "scale model" glider, a mini Schweitzer SH1-26E built from scratch (balsa and foam + fiberglass fuselage covered with Japanese paper and hot wire cut foam wings covered with fiberglass and Oracover).

Wing loading : 35g/dm²

She's a nice flyer for soaring all the afternoon long. She's also able to perform positive aerobatics.

Status : Active

More than 20 years old pictures ... That time flies !

My first self designed glider (PSS style). She was called "US AIR Farce" - In French "une Farce" meens something like "a Joke"... I still like the Thinderbirds paint scheme

Status : Retired
