I thought I would post a blog entry - it has been a while.

I recently built a Tricopter with great success. It turned out to be a little ripper. Below are some videos of it, along with some FPV videos. Keep reading under those to hear of her demise...

This video was the first real main flight. I had already maidened it, but now I had dialled it in.

This is just one of the many FPV flights I made on this bird.

Hello All,

Well I finally finished my wings for my Big Wing Easy Star and I am very happy with the result. The airbrush work is a little rough around the edges... but you get that when you are a hack!!

Anyways... I use Metallic Blue Profilm on the underside of the wings to give it a sleek look. I am going to weigh her again and if the increase is not too bad, I will do the tail also. I was really surprised at how covering on foam turned out.

Cheers

Today I finished the build on my Easy Star, although I have not flown it in this configuration (still setting up) I am happy with the results.

I weighed it today for the first time and it came in at 1350g. Not too bad considering what is onboard.

Easy Glider Wings with Ailerons
EagleTree OSD Pro
Eagletree eLogger V3
GPS
Pan and Tilt
Enlarged Rear Stab with TX mounted.
Thomas LRS
3000mAh Main Lipo
500mAh Video Pack
Carbon Fibre in the tail for strength.
Main Rx in the Belly Hatch
3A/6A BEC (for safety)

Hopefully I will be able to send it up later in the week.

Cheers

Today I sent my EZ Star up with the OSD on its maiden flight.

I am not sure if the GPS is still happening as it should - might need to look into this a little more. I have also now changed out the lens on the camera to a wider angle. Seems to give a brighter picture too.

Enjoy

Well after some recent success with my Easy Star, I decided to go and see if I could setup my EGO Cessna for FPV. After some head scratching, I managed to get everything mounted, but it flew like a pig, so I decided (with some advice from a forum member) to drop the Video Battery and run everything off one Lipo. I also went back to the stock whip antenna on the TX.

The result was a much lighter airframe. I modified the battery box, and got ready for some fun.

The result is below. I will post some pics tomorrow of this bird, but what a hoot to fly. I have to be on my toes, because the ground rushes by a lot faster than with the Easy Star!!

Enjoy!

Well Wobby gave me a hard time, so I decided I should add some stuff to this blog!

My FPV Setup consists of an KX191 Camera and is recorded using a Canon MV600i video camera. Below is the result!

FPV - another day in paradise!! (5 min 0 sec)
