Planned the plane with Halloween colors, but when my son saw the plane he said, "It's a Giants plane!"

Flew the ParkZone Sukhoi-26 XP quite a bit at the local park yesterday. The rolls and snap rolls are spectacular with the plane. First time I flew the batteries out till they pulsed. Nice plane to fly with some wind. Can't wait to see a slightly larger monoplane with Horizon Hobby's new brushless micro brick they're using for the Beast UMX.

Maidened the Gee Bee Y yesterday. It was a bit nose heavy with the Turnigy 2217-1050 up front with a Zippy 2200 3S. I'll have to try a lighter battery next time or add some weight to the rear. Landing was not pretty, and cracked one of the wheel pants, crunched in the bottom attachment of the firewall screw mount. Even with the low rates and expo I had on the plane, it was a fast and nervous flight. I hope to have more fun next time by moving the CG rearward, using a lighter battery, and adding more expo to the elevator.

The stock wire landing gear on Multiplex planes like the Gemini, Acromaster, Easy Cub, and Fun Cub can be too flexible and bouncy. When I purchased an Acromaster from Draknkep, I noticed how he made his landing gear stiffer by attaching an additional wire to his landing gear with shrink tubing.

I did the same thing this morning with 3/32" wire for the landing gear on my Fun Cub. It was a quick mod, and the landing gear is noticeably stiffer.

You know you have it bad when you've finished putting together a plane and haven't maidened it yet, but you're already looking at the next plane to build.
