Help! - Gon'a need a bigger prop

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smit Rotterdam 1:72 Scale . I finally was able to get the ship on the pond. But I was surprised with how slow it moved though the water at full speed. 10 mph wind gave it a hard time. So I'm thinking a bit more pitch to the prop, maybe more blades (3 blade comes with it) I can't tell what size they are, knort nozzle make putting a larger prop on unrealizic. Motors are 12v. well please look at my blog for equipment list. Any ideas?

You can tell your headed for trouble when you find out "the more you know, the more you need to know'. LOL
Anyway, I've been able to do the bench testing of the electrics as far as I can go. Radio (Futaba 6EX) Tx and Rx, 2 ESC's w/BEC's worked well. I did not disable either of the BEC's at this time. Each where are plugged into different channels. The only real problem is with the Tx. As it stands right now both motors work oppsite of the Tx control levers. Forward on the Tx runs the motors in forward direction, but only at about 65 percent of reverse. Reversing the servo action on the Tx should over come that issue. I do not have the 8 switch function controller that I odered from Model Control Devices (I ordered it before News Years Day). Hmm...another story.

I have much of the details to do yet, but my attention has turned to the electrics. I've purchased 2 ESC's form ProBoat @ $35.00 ea., I was given a Futaba 6EX Radio w/ R606FS Receiver for Christmas, and I picked up a Hi-Tech HS-645MG Servo @ $40.00. I only need a good 12 volt battery which I will pick up today. Then bench testing will being. I'm looking forward to purchasing a 8 switch function controller from MCD.

I started my Smitty about 15 years ago. Lost interest in it (planking just took the wind out of my sails) and it sat in the gargae up til now. I was surprized at all the mistkes I had made. Any way, Certain mistakes just simply can't be fixed. Desipte my best efforts it still even looks like A Rotterdam. I here are some pic.s I hope to finish her this winter.
