Out at the flying field today for taxi tests. Also to run power system. Rimfire 65CC motor with apc 24-12e prop equals impressive thrust. Blew the sliding canopy off its rails, since it was still in the open position when testing full throttle.

About ready to test fly this model. Took me awhile to figure position and mount for forward lipo. Balance set 5" back from LE using 6oz. of lead weight. To achieve this I left off back tail wheel cover , cockpit interior, and wheel well covers for the time being. Take-off weight is currently 27.8 lbs. Horizon guys flying gas powered corsairs at 30 lbs.

First flight of Cub on floats. Used 1/2 flaps on take-off and landing. Need to route servo wires from floats better.

2nd test flight. Gear retracted. Gusty winds pushing the plane around during flight. Will try next flight without crosswinds to see if it will roll out straight after landing. Robart electric retracts are fragile! The plane turning and scraping wingtip is bending roll pin inside right retract.

Made lipo trays like the ones used in my Sea Fury. 2 6S lipos 5000 to 8000 maH will fit. Dead weight on motor box sides removed and bolts now anchor sides of upper lipo mount

I now have about 8 very short flights on this jet. Gear is retracted and nose gear door closed. Main gear doors left off for air intake to fan. Having issues with nose pitching up when power reduced leading to interesting up-close landing view.

High speed passes using 3/4 throttle and gear up. Using 20-15 APCe prop now with 10s 45C 5000maH. This is a smooth flying airplane.
