I now have about 8 very short flights on this jet. Gear is retracted and nose gear door closed. Main gear doors left off for air intake to fan. Having issues with nose pitching up when power reduced leading to interesting up-close landing view.

High speed passes using 3/4 throttle and gear up. Using 20-15 APCe prop now with 10s 45C 5000maH. This is a smooth flying airplane.

Third flight on jet done today. CG now set at 170mm. Got behind the power curve on landing approach. Need to adust esc throttle response for faster ramp-up speed.

Finally. Maiden flight about 2 minutes.

XPS extreme power system. Original heavy version.
YEP 120A esc-HobbyKing
2 HobbyPartz 6S 5000 60C lipos in series.
CG @ 165mm. Still seems nose heavy.
Thrust tube made from aluminum heating duct. Exit diameter 95mm.
It will need big cheater hole in bottom to fly with gear up and doors closed since I removed alot of the internal duct.
I am pretty sure a foamie habu2 flies faster! Haven't checked how much lipo capacity used yet.

Another project I have been messing with since about 2009. I think this 1/8 scale F16 was one of the first offerings from FEJ. Wasn't impressed with overall quality and never installed a turbine.
Started watching the XPS extreme power system videos and liked the sound it made. I purchased one when they first came out.

Maiden flight. CG at 4" per manual. I am expecting flight times in excess of 15 minutes per charge.

This arf was put together a couple of years ago minus motor install. Just got around to finishing it this January. I had to use some of the lead provided because I didn't want to cut into the cowl.

HobbyKing G60 300kv motor
APCe 20-13 prop
Align 70A esc
6V 2000nimh battery pack for receiver
2 HobbyPartz 3S 4000mah 25C lipos in series for 6S

Touch and go's. Sound now in sync with motor speed. Next test is to reposition speakers to fire out the windows instead of into cabin.
This flight lasted a total of 15 minutes. I should be able to fly at least 20 minutes on one charge. Not used to that with my electric planes !

Super Cub touch and go (9 min 41 sec)
