Just an old 600N Pro with metal grips. I bought it used a while back and the photos are from a charity airshow that the club puts on every year. This is my first nitro heli and the biggest one I've ever owned.

I shot these video's from my nikon strapped to the bill of my hat since I don't have hardly any decent video's of my flying. My girlfriend is behind me so thats who I'm talking to in the videos and the reason for the warning. You might find some funny especially in the second video but was cut short due to running out of memory.

I'm going to try out the IMAC stuff this year but won't have a big plane. Instead I'm planning on using the new 70" slick on gas

Totally new to IMAC but made a list of events I would like to go attend. Tried to limit it to a 3hr drive (based on google maps) from Louisville, KY minus the regional championships.

4/16-North Central Judging Seminar (3hrs)
5/29-Columbus 10th Annual IMAC Challenge (3hrs)
6/26-6th Annual Southern Ohio IMAC Challenge (3hrs)
7/17-Propbusters I.M.A.C. Challenge (2.5hrs)
7/31-2nd Annual Lexington Moonshine Classic (only 1hr!)
8/14-Greater Cincinnati IMAC Challenge (2hrs)
9/18-NC Regional Championships (4hrs...eek)

North Central events found at:

5 Attachment(s) HABU is HERE
Discussion / Posted by HugoCraft / Dec 17, 2009 @ 07:54 PM / 6,761 Views / 1 Comments / Reply
I flew the Habu today twice!!!! I only have one battery for it and its the one that came with it so I had to cycle it at the field. This has the same setup that is called for in the BAE Hawk so I was wondering how it would do on a 3s since I could put (2) 3s1p 2250mAh 40C packs in parellel to make a 4500mah 3s pack. But it looks like these packs are perfect: http://hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store...idproduct=9506

But anyways it flys great. Its my first EDF but I've flown others before though. It does knife edge really well but you have to move the right stick a little to hold it. I was more relaxed for the 2nd flight and a fellow member got it on video. The landing was soooooo perfect.

Now I just need some decent weather to get more flights on it.

The 51" AJ Slick is my #1 favorite plane in my fleet. The EXI450 is the only CP heli I have and it rocks too. The new E-Flite Stearman is not mine but I would like to add it to my fleet.

2 Attachment(s) EXI Case Hold's 2 Helicopters!
Discussion / Posted by HugoCraft / Apr 24, 2009 @ 09:29 AM / 6,131 Views / 0 Comments / Reply
I can get both of my helicopter's to easily fit in my EXI case. With the case empty I put a flashlight in the helicopter cutout then placed 3 pieces of paper tapped together on top of the hole. The flashlight outlined the cutout so I just roughly traced the outline on to the paper. Cut out the template then rotated it 180 degrees and placed it on the other side of the case. Then after googling how to cut foam the best and easiest way I found for this type of foam was to use an electric turkey cutter. I pinned the template down where ever I could then held turkey cutter as close to vertical as possible and let it do the work. Removed the pieces and they both fit on the first try. These are my 2 main helicopters and I already have a case for my TX and a ammo box for my lipo's so I didn't need the stock slots.

I'm an airplane guy with too many helicopters.

1.) Got the mCX when it came out and it's a blast. It’s great for indoors when the weather isn't good outside. I know people get bored with it but I don't since it's still a challenge to do things like for example: a nose in approach for the bar stool in one shot; backward perfect circles; nose in/out at the center of circle while sidestepping; backwards figure eights; and last my favorite is where you change the orientation every quarter of a circle where you go forward, sidestep, backwards, sidestep, then forward all while holding altitude and a constant speed.
2.) I flew the Honey Bee Fixed Pitch all winter indoors at the gym and that’s how I mastered hovering and basic forward flight. I've flown it outside a few times but it has to be low winds. I remember first starting out with the training gear taking off and doing everything I could to hover in a square yard. Then after that thinking I’ll never get hovering nose in. I'm glad I did the fixed pitch stage but haven't flown it since it started to get warm and the indoor flying ended.
3.) I built the Honey Bee King 2 from an ARF since I already had most of the electronics and as a away to learn basic setups. The transition to a collective pitch was easy and I flew it a couple dozen times before a light crash. Did my first helicopter loop and roll with it. But it’s so upgrade there aren’t much stock parts on it. Now I need to make rrom for my 2 new heli’s...Continue Reading
