August 2007, and this event seems to get bigger and better every year. For the first time, we should also see some pilots from the LMA (Large Model Association) on our airfield. Flying Indoors started early in Carvin/France. They celebrated their 10th anniversary with the first F3P competition officially scheduled in the FAI calendar. Top pilots from Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany and Netherlands competed against some of the best French Indoor pilots.

I have been visiting the event at Carvin for the last five years (2002-2006) and the German team always enjoyed the trip.

With over 100.000 visitors, the modell-hobby-spiel in Leipzig is one of the most popular model fairs in Germany. The facilities are excellent, as you can see from the pictures. It was here, where I started to get a taste for Indoor flying in 2000, and after 3 years as pilot only, I am organising the Slowflyer Show since 2003.

3 days of model flying at my local club, the Aero Club Rheidt, just 1 mile behind my house. Good weather (not too hot ) and some top pilots made this a weekend to remember.

Apart from the flying, there was also a lot of socializing. I had Armin Mangelmann (Mr. MAMO) and his wife Manuela, but also Martin Müller and his wife Stephanie staying at my house. Never a dull moment throughout the weekend.

Once a year the top German jet pilots meet at the MSV Oberhausen. As a member of this club for the last 33 years, I usually don't miss the "Flugtag".
