My latest build project was a set of 22" Nutballs for my Nephew and Bro in California as a gift, and one for myself of course. I been meaning to build a Nutball for a while and have read most of the original thread.
I decided to design my own fuse, because I don't really like having all the gear hanging on one side or the other of a flat fuse. So I made mine a semi-full fuse with and open bottom. with plenty of room in the center for the batteries, speed controller and receiver even the bottoms of the servos are inside the fuse sides to help keep all the wires inside. Since I was building a three sided box type fuse I built the down and right thrust into the design, so no shiming of the motor is needed.
I have flown mine a few times now and it flies great as promised. I now have a new favorite flyer. Today was the second time I had a chance to fly it and it handled 7 mph winds with gust up to about 10. The flying was a little wild with the wind, but manageable. I flew it with an 800 mah battery and a 1000 mah, the extra weight of the heavier battery helped with the wind a little.
All and all I love this Nutball and I hope my Nephew and Bro like them too or I want them back. See the pics and specs below.
