RCFL New Features
Here are a few teasers...
RCFL New Features
- Enabled editing of fuel usage when adding a flight.
- Support for parallel charging of batteries. You only have to enter charging information once for all batteries that are parallel charged.
- Added capability for storage charges/discharges of batteries. As a result, batteries now have three states: Discharged, Storage and Charged.
- Option to hide retired items from lists.
- Option to not track charging.
- Option to select default flight view (Calendar or List).
- Significant expansion of the Aircraft Notes functionality.
- Each note is now treated as a separate item with its own date, flight #, title and description.
- You may set alarms for aircraft notes for number of days or number of flights. For example, say you need to charge your Rx pack every ten flights. You add an aircraft note to charge your Rx pack and set an alarm of ten flights. After the alarm is triggered, you will get a popup notice for that aircraft note when you view that aircraft’s details until you reset the alarm.
- You can also choose from different display icons for each note to choose from.

Let’s review....
I built one of these almost three years ago. It was totaled in November of last year after a mid-air collision with a 3D foamy. I had to build a new one! I tried to make this one better than its predecessor and I think I succeeded on most counts. There is much more detailing on this one and I attempted several new techniques with good results. I tried to exaggerate some of the appearances like larger decals, more pronounced panel lines and more contrast in the paint scheme. She has the same power plant as the first one and controls are ailerons, elevons and rudder. I tried my best to hide all the linkages for the control surfaces so you wouldn’t immediately notice them (the rudders were a challenge). She flies quite different from the original. Not better or worse...just different. I think she flies more like the real thing might fly. After five flights I’m starting to get a feel for her. I know this jet is capable of more, so this won’t be the last you hear from me.
The video was compiled from two flights yesterday (flights four and five of the plane). I hope you enjoy it...it’s meant to be funny...I don’t take myself that seriously.
I do have pictures of the entire build, so if anyone has any questions, I’ll be happy to try and help.

I was lucky enough to get a couple of flights in at lunchtime before the rain started. Pen was kind enough to me my photographer. I even got a new avatar picture out of the bunch. I swear my 600 flies better with the new canopy!
.

.
With the exception of the head, tail and the electronics, this is basically a brand-new, from-scratch helicopter (the last crash was bad!). The canopy was my own design and the paint job is completely from rattle cans.

Christmas Heli...
This is my HDX-450 shortly before it was retired and sold. It's been a GREAT heli! I hope you enjoy the video.

My new heli. It's a Trex 600CF that's been upgraded to TT drive. I got a great deal on RunRyder from a great guy (T Howard). It's was a receiver-ready setup with tons of extra parts and batteries. I've only flown it twice so far, but even though it's a little under-powered with the original 600L stock motor, it's a great smooth-flying heli. The new Scorpion 4025-1100 motor is already on it's way and with that installed, I should really be able to beat the air into submission!
After the wife pulled all the original ugly stickers off of the stock canopy, I re-finished it with a custom paint scheme and I'm quite happy with the results.

Here's my brand new X-43 Deltastorm III. It's basically an X-41 with thrust-vectoring yaw. The video was shot yesterday. There's even a little "formation" flying with a buddy's X-41 at the end. I hope you enjoy.
