2010 Due to getting a job, I didn't do as much flying in 2010 as I'd like. However, 2010 was marked by my getting a 600-Size helicopter.
- CopterX CX600e Pro
This is my latest and it's a close copy of the Align 600EFL Pro. It's really nicely made with lots of cool CF and aluminum parts. Sadly it suffers from some quality issues #1 being poor quality bearings, I have replaced the main head bearings with ceramics and found that the thrust bearings in the tail unit were actually missing a ball bearing on one side which has led me to replace several of the tail parts with Align parts including the V2 triple bearing tail holder, a $29 part. eHirobo have offered to send me replacements with my next order from them which is way better than the run-around I got from Hobby King but I think that you might be better ordering the basic Trex 600EFL Pro kit which you can get for under $500 (I paid $300 + shipping for the CX600e Pro from eHirobo). The CX600 is my first flybarless (FBL) heli and I don't have it flying yet; I'm planning on using the CX-3X1000 FBL gyro unit which I've seen many good reviews on.
- Hobby King HK600GT I have enjoyed this heli and it flys quite well but... there are a lot of issues with the kit that Hobby King basically strung me along regarding my complaints - bottom line, unless you really want to go through everything and replace bad parts, you're better off...Continue Reading
