With the addition of the Raptor e620, I have increased my "fleet" to 3 ships: a Blade CX (special thanks to my Dad for getting me addicted), a T-Rex 450 that started life as an XL and is currently an SE v1.5 (ish), and the Raptor, which belonged to member rickc in a prior life.
So, this blog is intended to share my RC successes, failures and amusing stories with members, family and friends.
Let's start with a status report. Everything has now been ordered for the e620, and the parts that I have are mostly installed and all have been tested. I am waiting on a Futaba 7C radio and receiver (which should arrive today), as well as a GY611+BLS251. That order is coming from Hong Kong, and I'm not sure when it will be here. I'm hoping it will be tomorrow so I can possibly maiden this ship this weekend, but I won't be too upset if I have to wait a little longer.
The current setup consists of a 10T pinion with the standard 111T Main gear, HD-5680BB servos on cyclic (cheap--to be upgraded at some point), a Scorpion HK4025-740, CC HV-85 ESC, 3xKongPower 2200mAH 25C 3s batteries in series. The ESC has been all set up using CastleLink in governor mode. I'm starting with a configured 1900 RPM (yet to be verified by a tach), and will adjust from there.
Thanks for reading, and I'll try to keep things interesting and up-to-date. I also plan to post some pictures. In that vein, here's a shot of the work table with the two CP helis
