I decided to group my scale boats and submarines I've built over the years. Not the complete list but close. 8 of the subs shown were scratch built and 7 of the boats. Oldest boat pictured is the Russian Alfa submarine with the red lower hull.
1994.

Biggest is the German type 9 at 94.5 inches......

Here are some shots of a model I built in 2010. The model features a photo etched deck, and a fiberglass hull. 82" long with an 8.5" beam! Props and hardware are brass. Internals are old school plex lids and were all scratch built. The model has been sold and now resides in Japan.
Last photos are of my dad's YTL tug and Mike Dory's type 7 U boat. These subs were very similar in size and performance yet the designs are quite different.
