This is a 32" Wingspan, 6mm EPP foam construction. using a 24. HK 2730 1500kv
motor with 8x6 prop and a 750mah 3 cell battery. All up weight 10.2oz. Is anybody else shooting for this type of outdoor performance from this set up? If you are, please contact me, would like to compare notes.

This is what I've been working on this spring. 6mm EPP, 24g motor, 32" wingspan. As I become a better pilot I'm finding some small problems, But
it's, coming along.

Ok,
Some picts and comments on working with 1.9lb epp.
This is going to be a cool project. I'm not sure what the final wingspan will be. I have 2 planes built in this series.
#1- 27" wingspan w/24g, 1700kv motor and 2cell lipo

#2- 30" wingspan w/24g, 1500kv motor and 3cell lipo
Both will be way to fast for indoor flying. Though I'm sure many of you are
capable of doing that, It is not the direction I'm going at this time.
I'm shooting for a nice outdoor pattern practice foamy. I've had great sucess with a 35" wingspan w/9mm 1.3lb epp, w/36g, 1450 kv motor.
But want to try to build one useing the 24g motor setup w/1.9lb epp.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I just made the jump from 9mm, 1.3lb EPP to 6mm, 1.9lb EPP Foam.
I have some planes built but haven't been able to fly because of weather.
Im a little suprized with the added weight. though it's thinner material,It ended up being heaver than the 9mm, 1.3lb plane, Hoping to end up with a more aggressive less floaty plane, with a more ridged feal.

Thanks for your intrest. I'm am planing to post plans on RC Groups soon though this will not be a good build project for a first time EPP builder.
I have a real job now, so my building and posting time is becoming limited.
Sorry if I got you all excited and can't deliver. I'm talking with some people that are better geared up to ship and sell these. Keep an eye out on my blog and I let you know if that happens.

Ok, I'm a buildin!
Built 2 new 35" wingspan Fosiris's this week. Not able to test fly because of weather.
I will be selling them for local pickup only, or at Phils. Phils should have some up for sale this weekend.
I will be working on both the 35" and a 31" versions. I'm thinking of making the 31" more of an indoor plane?

Saw Joe Smith flying his Osiris at the feild last week, I realy want one, but not working limits my buget, So the next best thing is to build one. The Fosiris This is what it looks like.
It flew realy great till I did a perfect inverted nose in. Suprizingly little damage.
I used the old suppomodel 36g motor/speedcontrol combo. It's way over powered. May get away with the usual 24g Turnegy.

I'm working on a new pylon racer. The Idea is to get Stryker speed or better from an EPP plane.
I'm working on my second prototype. and it's got the speed, But it's a still a handfull to fly. Though the next few flights should do the trick.
One thing thats lacking is the fast sound!!! It's whisper quite. I am using the (suppomodel) motor/speedcontrol combo. 2208/14 1450kv. With a 8x8 apc prop and a 3-cell 750 Rhino battery. Could mabe get the sound I want with a 2000+kv motor and a 6x6 prop but not sure of a good combo. Any suggestions?

Built from 9mm 1.3lb EPP foam, 27.5" wing span and 24" nose to tail. w/4.5mm od x3.5mm id carbon spar. 6"x.04in torque rods on alerons and elevator. .04" carbon rod support to rear of wings. And of corse my new control horns.

I just cut a Cap32 with the fuse extended at the tale by 2".
Hoping it will track like a f-3a plane. Should be interesting.

FEAR OF FLYING!!!
OK!! I don't want you to spend $20,000 like me, trying to fly 3D like Frank and Andrew. I've done the leg work for you. I've done all the research for you.
Don't spent 2 or 3 grand on big expensive, fragile, planes and crash everything you own, trying to fly 3D.
For less than $200 I'll have you, hanging on the prop, 2 feet off the ground, by the end of your first battery pack!!!!
I've been flying for about 4 years. I started with a 40 size nitro trainer, that lasted about 30 days, then I upgraded to an aerobatic 60 size plane, that lasted about 2 weeks. Everyone told me bigger is better, and easier to fly. I continued to buy and crash bigger and better planes for about 3 years. I also had to join a flying club pay dues and join the AMA so I'd have a place to fly these hugh expensive aircraft. At this point a single crash could easily cost me a $1000 airplane. My best manuver was an unimpressive knife edge. And I still couldn't even fly inverted!!
Then I got my first depron electric foamy. This was a big step, because the wing load was low and I began to fly some nice manuvers and the cost was minimal. But depron foam is very brittle and I was still destroying a lot of planes. At this point I estimate I had spent nearly $20,000.
Thats when I built my first EPP Foam airplane. Using free planes from an RC forum. I built it for way less than $100. That includes the motor speed control servos and the battery. And...Continue Reading

I just recieved the first prototype of a new fiberglass control horn, I designed for Leadfeather type EPP airplanes. They turned out very cool. Hope to have them for sale soon.
I want to thank Dave at Radical RC for his help in developing this horn. And if your looking for control horns for your project, www.radicalrc.com will probably have a laser cut fiberglass or light plywood control horn to fit your plane.
