Hotliner radio hard to set up!
Help! / Posted by Wing-span / Jul 21, 2008 @ 05:29 PM / 4,892 Views / 0 Comments / Reply
I am perplexed. I have just built my Reichard Sprinter and am at the stage where I'm setting the radio up. I have a JR PCM9XII.

I'm struggling to get the 'Motor Hold' function to work at all. Read the manual many times and I'm sure I'm setting things up by the book but the motor remains active when I put the radio into Landing mode. What am I doing wrong?

Can anyone explain how I can get the Motor Hold function to work. Or even suggest a good setup for what is essentially an electric sports plane with flapperons.

PS this is a great radio but this is the only thing I can't seem to get working.

Please help as the good weather may last until the weekend and I need my high speed flying fix.

Simon.

God! I'm so easily distracted. I have gone ahead and purchased a Reichard Sprinter. I started to build it yesterday. Can't wait to get it flying...

Easy build. Great to fly. Simple setup.

This plane is simple to get up in the air and is clean and quiet. Though my future is with a Blaster 2 DLG. I fancy trying a bit of treeline DS'ing. Actually can you fit ballast in a Blaster 2?

Very shabby second hand Wot4. Ugly as sin and in need of a lot of TLC. Details to follow...

Engine would not run consistently, hands getting cold and numb, frustration building, undercarriage splayed and spat dragging in the grass. Add the above to fading light and what do you get?

I will add pictures when I can face getting the model out of the car.

What can I get next? Any body have joy with a Black Horse Twister or similar model?

Lived to fly another day with a beefed up tail.

This is the second plane I've had where the tail broke. Yes I know I'm the common dmtr.

This is what happened to the tailplane of my Exp Pro. They NEED to be checked for signs of damage after landings. This one gave up the ghost on launch and broke up due to the aerodynamic forces.

Check for any flex by pushing at the tips. Look at the root area and look for any deformation or cracking. Also listen for any creaking noise which may indicate some internal problem.

HIGH FLIGHT [by John Gillespie Magee, Junior.]

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never a lark, or even eagle flew,
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

What more needs to be said?

I have just added an F3x? type launch video clip. Just pray you don't have a line break as that model would probably be smoke. Check it out in the Video section.

Welcome to my Blog.

It all starts here.

This is my Onyx. The very first hi-performance glider I owned. It took quite some trimming to get it to fly right and the airframe has a few weaknesses but when flying well it is simply fantastic. I would consider another as the price is good, but I would strengthen a few vulnerable areas during the fitting out stage.
