Here's a cute little plane I built for my friend Richard. It's a Bellanca Decathlon ARF from Hobbyking.com. It went together fairly easily despite the directions having almost no words, just some pictures. Anybody with a little modeling experience should be able to assemble one. Since Richard wanted to put a larger than normal motor in it I had to customize the motor mount to make it fit and then beef it up some to withstand the extra power. It has a Turnigy 3542-1000 motor. The only other issue was with the tail wheel bracket. The bracket is 90 degrees perpendicular to the tail wheel strut wire, but the bottom of the fuselage is not 90 to the strut wire. So I had to make a plywood wedge to accomodate this difference in angle. Now all Richard has to do is install his receiver, battery, and adjust the control rigging as needed, then go fly.
