I've decided to tread more into the 3d world. I can 3d pretty well on a simulator, but I wanted a real plane to practice with so I chose an easy to build plan from Dave Powers. Did I also mention it is free? http://www.rcpowers.com/PDFplans.htm
My Extra 300 profile foamy has yet to maiden due to these locally high winds, but the forecast looks pretty good for this coming weekend so I am hopeful.
I chose a tower pro 2410-12 motor (because I had it in a box unused) with a 9x4.7 prop. I added landing gear and a tail skid so I can taxi and takeoff. It came to 15 oz. RTF.
