I took a few photos while watching the action at Terry Edmund's Misty Meadows contest near Solon, IA on Saturday.
It was a very breezy, gusty day with lots of turbulence. The wind was 12.8 mph with gusts to 17 early in the afternoon. By mid-afternoon the winds were 15 with gusts to 21. Landing points were hard to achieve. Many planes were pushed far downwind when they were turned on final...most dropped short of the landing zone.
I was trying to capture launches and had good luck with shots that lined up with the launch direction. I hope you enjoy the photos....Continue Reading
