In this week's installment there's some talk about the new FatShark Faceplates, Headplay Goggles, and I give my personal experience and opinions on both. It looks like Karl is scoring a deal on a 'new' used aircraft, and we share some items in the news. Also, you get a little peak inside our crazy minds as we roll right into an impromptu planning session for an absurd idea.
The planets all aligned and everything fell into place so that half of our team were able to attend the RAMS Club Electric Flight Festival in East Bend, North Carolina last week. In this week's installment, we'll talk a bit about the fun, food, and friends that all contributed to such an outstanding event. Also, as a bonus bit of info, we bring on our friend Matt "SR71Freak" Vaudrin to discuss some things you might consider doing to your aircraft should you experience a 'fly-away' as Matt did.
In this week's show we have the opportunity to meet and visit with a long-time listener - Lito, aka "Mochaboy" on the interwebs. In addition to talking about the upcoming North American FPV Meet (the 5th annual!), we also chat a bit about a new frame design that has piqued a LOT of interest!
This week we are fortunate to have a couple of guests in the workshop with us. Steve "Vintauri" Mills pops in to tell us all about how this year's WATTS Over Owatonna went and also gives us some dop on the another Fly-In coming soon. We also get to talk with Mark Lehman from MultiRC!
In this week's show we are really quite the mess. Hang in there with us, though, as we eventually get on track and bring you an interview with a really cool gent with an even cooler organization - we visit with Scott Zimmerman from AirBears.org! If you play the FPV game or even have the skills and gear to do Aerial Photography, I urge you to listen to this episode. This group has already assisted in the saving of 4 lives!
Yes, it's a 'thing' and Cathead can tell you all about it.
This week we are back from a two week vacation! It was nice to get away for a spell and three of our team went north to the Crash-In, Fly-In in Saranac, MI. It was a great event held at a superb flying facility. I'm telling you, if you ever find yourself anywhere close to this facility, drop by and fly. You won't be disappointed.
This week it's the Crash and Cathead Show! We talk about a little of this and a little of that, but mainly we just waste your time this week. LoL I was not really planning to do a show this week, but it's so hard to stay away from the Wednesday night LIVE thing with everyone.
There's a few news items, another IOTW candidate, and we give our live audience a chance to ask US a few questions.
In this installment of our show, we explore some of the ways you might take an RC "something" along with you on your family vacation this Summer. While the big manufacturers make some fantastic solutions all boxed up and ready to go (UMX goodies like the Night Vapor or the Radian), there are certainly other options that you can BUILD that are conducive to taking along on a road trip, or even things that you can fit inside your luggage when air travel is required.
Have you been considering using a trailer to cart your RC models to and from the local flying field? Have you thought of attending out-of-town or out-of-state events and wondered if a trailer was the best option for hauling your fleet? In this episode, we attempt to answer one of our listeners questions regarding the use of a trailer in the RC Hobby. If you've been contemplating such a purchase, you may want to give this episode a listen!
In this week's show we get a little deeper into FPV and talk about some of the cool Ground Stations we've seen - some are really stinking expensive, while others show that you can get the job done WITHOUT breaking the bank (these are MY favorite systems). Also, we get a chance to visit with Jake 'FleshPilot' Wells for the first time on the show. You may remember our referencing Jake in some previous shows, as he's the guy that's been putting out some of those awesome videos we've enjoyed from Washington state.
This 309th installment of our show finds the cast still down with a case of the post-SEFF blues. Yes, we are still reliving the adventure from that event this week. However, we add a special guest to the team this week while we reminisce - our buddy Jim T. Graham!
I want to apologize to our podcast-only listeners for all of the "visual references" in this episode. After having some problems with our live-feed over the last month, we changed things up and used a live video feed on YouTube for this one. This feed turned out to be quite good AND allowed us to use our webcams, meaning that we could show each other stuff, as well as the live listening audience. I just want it to be known that we here at TheCrashCast aren't trying to "break into" the video world (there are others that do it sooo much better than we could possibly do), and that the audio product (the podcast) will always be our primary focus, We just got a bit carried away with the new technology during this show.
In this 307th installment of our little show you'll get to hear the stuff we recorded live while we were on the grounds at Hodges Field for SEFF 2015. I recorded some segments with some of our favorite vendors, and then Laine grabbed the mic and did some "Man On The Street" interviews. I think you'll enjoy this one.
Don't forget! We will be back in the workshop doing the LIVE thing on Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm Central!
This 306th installment of our little show finds all your hosts full of excitement and anticipation since we will ALL be attending SEFF 2015 next week! We have a little information for you this week, but mostly it's just us clowning around.
For what it's worth, every week I seem to struggle to come up with a unique name for the show. Well, when Cathead is in attendance, there is no struggle whatsoever. LoL
I apologize for this episode - it was as the title suggests - a TRAINWRECK! The topic for discussion was supposed to be A Newbie's Guide To SEFF (and other large events), as suggested by Jason Morrow. Things just ended badly, but I wanted to go ahead and share the episode for posterity.
